I agree, Cherryredcasino is one of the most visual eye popping sites I have seen yet. I think something like that would costs around 30k. That's with a real team of designers. If you can find something cheaper with the same quality please post.

I have found very skilled people there... Although their cut on a 5 digit project would be somewhat large (charged to the coder, but they always include it in their estimate), they offer some nice assurance on deliverables so neither side gets shafted.

Flash was my thing at one time. Slapped together 4 ten page sites and 15 infomercials. Very proficient with 3d vector imaging obeying Newton's laws of gravity of course. Also have an old dusty library of after affects worth a fair bit.

A bit rusty and would likely take a month to refresh myself. But I do think one can be done for far less than 30k.

I tried some larger projects on getafreelancer (GAF). You have to be very carefull to cull the the good from the bad providers there. I've had great experiences with GAF on content writers. I've had horrid experiences with "SEO specialists" there.
I tried a large project (>15k) and the long distance, time zone difference, language difference made effective communication almost impossible.

If at all possible, try to be face to face in order to assure your money is being spent with "value" in mind.

I'm designing a big project now, and I go to their studio here in CR everyday to make sure time is not wasted.

I earlier mentioned 30k because that's what was recently quoted for me from a large company. That's a premium, but I think you could get a great site for 15k.

I agree be very careful for the simple fact Flash is an actually coding language not like HTML. Tons of bad and dishonest coders, go with someone you know and is well respected. Do not risk spending even a 100.00 on a rogue programmer.

Your 100% right about that. I learned php, asp, and SQL querrries just because the risk was too high compared to the time it took to learn enough to do what I had to do at the time.

What you may want to consider (if you haven't already) is to get a graphics designer to do flash graphics for you and then code the site in php yourself.

This would give you complete control over everything, and then you would only be using flash for the graphics. Then any changes you have to make down the road, you don't have to do in flash....so no constantly recompiling the flash files...

This would also not tie you into a signle designer since if you have to change graphics at a later time you could go to any graphics person that does flash.
