Another Page Rank update?

It seems like just yesterday i went from pr0 for 5 months on my first site to pr2, i just checked and i have dropped to pr1, apparenly pagerank update happened today, but on a plus side, one of my sites that i had pr1 on in the last update has gone up to pr2. and another i stared 3 months ago has jumped stright to pr2, i know pagerank means nothing these days and i didnt see anymore traffic when i got pr2 on my first site, just wondering what i did to get my first site dropped for pr2 to pr1, i dont do any shady link deals or buy links, just blogging and social media

Looks like there have been a new update.

I started a new blog about 2? weeks ago and it is already at pagerank 2. LoL. I must be doing something right then I guess.

Wow, I decided to check a site we just started a couple weeks ago and discovered to my amazement is is PR4 already. Looks like I had a PR6 site drop to PR5 though, and PR4 change to a PR3, but most everything else stayed just the same.

That's incredible. I've never seen Google do so many updates in such a short period of time. I think this is the third page rank update in recent times. I'm not complaining though, this PR update was pretty good

Yeah, they have done 3. There will be a reason for this.

I noticed on the first updated Blogger sites were all hit with a penalty, well the ones I checked. All said n/a, now that has been removed. I also read Twitter was hit with a penalty too and Google dropped to 9.

Guys, I know it's nice to have a nice PR but please don't threat about it.

It has no effect on SEO or your rankings at all - most SEO companies don't even look at PR any more including us.

I think its still really interesting that google have done so many updates recently whichever side of the 'does PR matter' debate you side with

Most of my sites stayed the same PR. The results in Google changed a little bit today too for some keywords. Google must be in the middle of implementing some really changes to its search results.

maybe it was a change in their filters. I'm a member in a forum with the topic of Black hat seo and many member are saying that many of their sites that were penalized by the panda update are recovering rankings.

This PR update is slightly different for my sites compared to earlier updates.

One of my sites dropped from PR3 to PR2 on home page, but most of the pages gained page rank and went from PR0/1 to PR1/2.

Home page of my newest sites gained PR1 but few pages are already at PR2.

Anyone else experiencing something like this maybe?

I had about 8 sites that have gained page rank, but I have only checked the home pages - not the internal pages.

Edited to add that my internal pages have also gained rank, which is unusual for me ..but good

I forgot to mention that I saw some sites that were ranking #1 with pr0 and now have pr3+. Did anyone noticed this?

Definitely there is a page rank update. One of my sites went from PR0 to PR4

Exactly Though I'm still wondering about exchanging links. I don't do it (yet) and google says it's not allowed, me being new here I read the exchange links section and people are selling links and exchanging in a manner google states being illegal.. link to me and I'll link to you. So as a newbie am in doubt what road to take.
OT o will check then if I'm still pr0, and if so I can go back into my corner and cry myself a river :P

My PR did not change, but I did notice some of my keywords moved up in the results quite significantly.

Mine received PR2 from PR1. I observed that my permanent backlinks increased in Google and so as in Yahoo. My contents are old but I think Google now are more concerned with original contents so I think that's the reason why I've been "rewarded" somehow.

In my own opinion, PR is not important at all; I haven't actually checked PR for any site in terms of my own or linking opportunity for probably 18 months.

Rand Fishkin from SEOmoz has posted a brilliant video recently in terms of PR and it isn't that long - it's on SEOmoz.org but I can't post the link because I haven't made enough posts If you click on SEO blog once on there and choose the latest Whiteboard Friday then you'll see it there.

It is quite in depth however it's understandable for a beginner or advanced SEO.

I recommend watching it guys Rand is also widely regarded as one of the most influential people in the Search Industry so just that you know it's a reliable source
