Obviously his thoughts were wrong, but sometimes people get into such a dark place that they simply cannot see the light and believe they are not worthy of their families love.
I do not agree. Suicide is usually a selfish act. There are exceptions like jumping onto a grenade that is about to kill your friends or suicide of conspirators who know they will be tortured and others will die because they will talk.
What your brother did was selfish. He maybe did not know it and tried to frame it as "help", but it does not change the fact it was selfish. I also tried to kill myself by jumping from high building and survived only to understand that I was selfish as well.
If anyone does not like the world or the impact of himself to the world, then go and change it. Maybe you have to be lower than the worm, but there is never late.
I know a guy who went from rich to broke. His family is in disarray, they have regular fights even with a small daughter involved. That guy is thinking about suicide and he will maybe do it. But he is not thinking about other alternatives like divorce and moving to richer country to make money "because he loves his daughter so much, that he can not live without her".
That is a typical kind of behavior. And it is totally cowardish. Instead he has to show the way to his daughter. Even if he never makes it anywhere, he has to show the courage to fight with the hard life, even when it kicks him out of comfort zone [yes, even such people have the comfort zone and they kill themselves because their ego can not bear the life out of it].
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own
