Hello GPWA
I'm very new to this industry, I've got a couple of sites in development and in time I would love some specific advice about them.
In the mean time does anyone have any generic advice for a newbie entering this world?
Cheers

I know this guy in the real world btw (he's actually sitting next to me right now), so be nice to him.
Or not, I don't care.![]()

Yeah he's not lying, and he is actually bald and an idiot.....![]()
Copy all of 'baldidiot' content, focus his keywords, link to his sites from various non-related ones, profit. All jokes aside, welcome to the industry. Arm yourself with patience and enjoy building your websites as well as filling them with content.
Soon enough you'd know if you wanna do this for living and keep on going or migrate to something else.
Oh Don't worry my content will be better than BaldIdiots![]()
From what I've heard if you can have some patience and not give up too soon this is not only a profitable industry but a really fun environment too

Im sure he can point you in the right direction, in terms of partners and programs who are good for business. Yah running out of patience is perhaps the rank 1 factor for not succeeding in any field i'd assume.

Patience is the most important. Especially if you want to drive traffic by SEO. It will take time to get started with everything. But once you see some money comming in it will be easier to be patient. Don't think this is the big industry where you will be rich in 1 year.
Keep reading GPWA of course! You will find many tips and good information on this website.

So if I say "hey Matt get me a beer" I'll get two beers?
Welcome to the industry - the more, the merrier. Prepare yourself for failure because fail you will. And then you'll learn from your mistakes and develop a profitable project.

Cheers Dan
I hope to prove you wrong
But yes prepared to make mistakes and learn. Thats one reason why I have a few projects on the go
A mistake doesn't need to be all bad, that’s the way you learn
I don’t know how far you have come but why not start to act as a customer, search for whatever you niche is and take a look at the top 10 sites from the SERP. What´s good and what bad in your opinion, is it a site you get confidence in, if not why.
If I find a site with a good looking theme, I check it via “Show source” and do a search for “theme”.. That’s in Chrome then..
