    Default Anybody residing in Thailand

I've recently relocated over to Thailand and was wondering if there are any other affiliates living here. Would be great to maybe meet for a coffee sometime and have a chat if anyone is in Bangkok specifically.

    Cheers

I used to live few years in BKK. Great place Back then I was working with a company not related to affiliate business and had a working visa. If someone is planning doing business without working-visa I advice them to check the current legislation and be pretty careful, because Thailand have pretty strick laws. But congratulations for you move! I belive you love to live in Thailand!

It is? We moved or better kicked out a year ago. Until then, I've paid €2.500 for housing, €400 monthly car rental, €1.000 monthly tuition for two kids, €200 insurance, €1.000 grocery and dinning out ... now in Italy I save a ton compared.

Another big minus, you need work permit even if you "just manage" your company/sites outside the country. If you sit with your morning coffee on your terrace and work on your websites, you turn illegal if you do not have proper work permit! I know a couple Chiang Mai guys they end up in big trouble.

@Nigel ... how could you manage to relocate as actually all migrations stopped. Phuket sandbox? What Visa type u have applied for?

Yeas I have heard some horror stories from working with tourists visas etc. Even the work-permit only allowed to work with one company before, or atleast I remember it used to be so. So if anyone is doing affiliate business in Thailand remember to be extra careful and check the legislation well.

I would be happy to hear also how migration worked with all the restictions now.

And that is not the only problem ... as a gambling affiliate you are in double trouble. Recently they hunting down everything which is gambling related and it doesn't matter if you serve Thai nationals or not. Your underpaid cleaning lady or underpaid girlfriend (the family buffalo is sick and u dont want to pay for ... bla bla bla) become a "concerned citizen" and you'll hang.

3 yrs ago I spoke with at least three lawyer in BKK and Pattaya about the possibility to run a TH company to grow gambling sites for non-thai GEO's ... same response from all: JAIL

I will correct my statement, it is cheap as a tourist.

I didn't know it was this expensive to live there. If you pay €2500 for housing, it is a big mansion? It doesn't look like the normal people there have this amount of money.

    I'm totally normal people ...

Was a big but normal house, 6 sleeps 400 sq.m and a pool ... in Munich u will live in 90sq.m flat for 2.5k
Dont get me wrong, but your last sentence is complete nonsense. I every country u have people spending 10k a months for housing and some struggle to pay a $300 rent. My neighbor was TH, he was living on 900sq.m and a garage with 15 cars ...

Well I meant the average Thai, I didn't mean to offend you.

Of course in every country you have different kind of incomes. But the average person can not afford a 400sq.m house with a pool.
In Bangkok the average income in 2019 was ~1000€. This is the region with the highest income in Thailand. Almost double of other regions. So for the average person it is impossible to pay those rents. (source: statista.com)
