Default Anyone been affected by Brexit?

I'm curious, has anyone been affected, positively or negatively, by Brexits?

We get a fair amount of UK traffic, and it's behaving rather erratically this month - days where we get no UK signs up at all, to days where it gets a boost.

I can only put it down to either post-brexit fears?

Just curious if anyone else has seen this erratic patterns this July, or just me...

My car and van hire business has slowed up, i partially blame brexits where less houses are being sold in the uk.
The only positive thing boys and girls is gambling is recession proof.

Hard to tell at the moment. Euro 2016 was busy from a sports betting point of view.

I haven't noticed any discernible difference to be honest, either from revenue or personally.

That's a good point actually, rather than Brexit, the surges and dips might be due to the Euros as I really only do casino...

I guess I've done such a good job of avoiding the football, I sorta forgot about it! lol!

Absolute disgrace. It's like all the racists have taken the leave vote to mean they can do whatever they like.

Not just against Polish but pretty much anyone 'foreign looking'. It's vile and disgusting and the whole debacle has given racists an excuse to give abuse.
Give me a polish immigrant over one of those arseholes any day.

Yeah I now hate half my family who voted to leave!

I've applied for Irish citizenship through my granddad so I can at least remain a member of the EU leaving xenophobic Little England to get on with it.

From a betting point of view there will possibly be an initial upswing. As we know when people hit hard times (which they will with job loses, prices increases, etc) they tend to bet more (like we saw in 2008 ) but it doesn't last long.

True that, I've done bar work in hotels in the past and I actually got on better with the Polish than the English workers. Better educated, better work ethic, better overall attitude, better world view, good humour and I had some great conversations with them.

The English people were mostly arsey 18-21 year olds who thought they were doing people a favour just by turning up and who spent half the time on their phones. Polish girls are also nicer than English girls as a general rule. Just saying.

Merit, thanks for posting the question. I've added a poll to the question, and am moving the question to the polls section so we can include it as the weekly poll in today's newsletter.

In terms of my answer to the question, the effect of brexit on the currency exchange rate between GBP and USD has been quite negative, dropping by around 10% overnight. The result is that the GBP is currently at about a 30 year low versus the USD. Since the GPWA receives income in GBP and pays for staff in USD, the effect has been negative in a significant way.

Slight positive. I flew out to the Euros the day after the referendum to watch England (but sadly thanks to their laughably predictable incompetence got to see Wales v NI instead, which was great anyway) and took a small hit on the exchange rate. But, getting to the point...we had a big fat dollar balance at one bookie which thanks to the Sterling/USD crash is worth considerably more now it's been paid.

Hard to notice anything in terms of traffic/revenue due to the Euros though.

    Significantly negative.

Last year I started a Ltd company but now I think I'll give up on it. No point in building a business on a foreign market that is heavily taxed anyway, the accounting is expensive and the banks act like they don't want your business. EU VAT is complicated enough as it is, I certainly don't want my company to get involved in the crossfire two years from now.

As i have friends in the tourism businesses in the Ionian Islands(Greece), a place british people do visit a lot at summers, i can say that there have been no cancellations or changes in their booked apartments and holiday packs. So, i could go with "No" in the poll.
