Default Anyone know when IOWA sports book affiliate marketing will pop??

    Hey everyone,
I called the IOWA Gaming dept. and spoke with a very nice lady 'Betty' - she informed me that they will eventually post info online but there are no plans for affiliate marketing or lead gen outside of the big operators and they really have no info or guidance on what's coming for the BRAND NEW online gaming market in IA.

I am curious if anyone knows 'anything' - rumors, hear-say and theories work too.

    -Cheers

I spoke to Betty too. Similar reply. Ish

Licensees need to provide a list of companies they are partnering with to IRGC.* Those companies are usually not licensed.* However, Iowa has a voluntary self exclusion program.* Each licensed operator has to submit controls on how they are going to comply with this program.* I would suggest that any licensed operator who is looking to use your services reach out to verify how that process will work in their operation.

Not really answering the question. Im thinking it may be better to ask one of the programs.

I live on the border with Iowa, and have been following the market for some time. There's a strong push to open up the market to outside affiliates, but the big casino boys are resisting. I think it's just a question of time before it gets opened up to anyone.

in-person registration is a foolish policy that is likely to hold the market back considerably, but there is also a lot of pent up demand for sports betting in Iowa. After the 18 month moratorium, Iowa looks like it will be a competitive market that I suspect will be affiliate friendly. I’d love to see a push to speed that up.

regulators need only to look at Indiana in terms of how to do things right.

This thread needs an update, as effective tomorrow Iowa will open it's legal sportsbooks to mobile registration, ended the short sighted policy of in person registration that was holding back the market.

The great news for affiliates is no licensing process is needed, Iowa is a small market but the midwest collectively is becoming a great US sports betting market with Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa putting pressure on other states to legalize.

Details on the expiration of in person registration at Iowa sportsbooks and what comes next here:
