Default Anyone make money off of Sub Affiliates?

I haven't been been promoting anything for them and I wanted to know if anyone else had. Is there any money in it? If so, who has the best commission structure?

I really haven't had any luck with sub-affiliate commissions at all. The highest commission structure for me is only 5%. I wonder why they don't seem to work. Some people do have luck with them for sure. I think that Mainstreet Affiliates have one of the best commission structures out there and they're fantastic to do business with.

This is a very generic question, with very generic answers. It doesn't have anything to do with luck either. If you wanna play the victim card and go with I'm unlucky sure.

Back to the question. While I've never targeted subaffiliates, years ago, when this forum was full webmasters looking for help, I used to post and help a lot. And believe it or not, many are grateful for your contribution and would gladly join a program via your link (doesn't even have to be sub link for most programs).

It is true most programs offer a tiered commission, so tier 1 ~ 5% tier 2 ~ 3% tier 3-10 ~ 1%. Some only offer 1, some offer 1-2. The more you bring the more you can negotiate about it.

About the size of the commission it varies on what kind of webmasters you've referred obviously. My commission was anywhere from 2k GBP to 7k GBP on a good month. Around 25 webmasters referred, 2 of which were the big ones and brought nearly 99% of the revenue. Point is, helping out an active webmaster has a higher chance to give you a quality subaffiliate, than a randomly wondering one, who's level of expertise you don't know.

That being said, I believe these days are long gone. You rarely see people ask anything these days, rarely see people sharing anything valuable, that gets to the point or have any proof they know what they are talking about. You get the generic bla bla, "trust me bro I'm an expert" kind of bs.

This is 2 years worth of referral commission, before the program closed down. Won't mention the name, people familiar with the backend and colors know who it is.

To sum it up. It's an extra revenue channel, that can bring a good amount of money. It's very dependant on what sort of people you are talking to, and working with. Has nothing to do with luck. Will bring you less ROI, if you put as much effort into it, as you do for players, so it's not worth putting TIME & MONEY into it.

As you said, years ago, here, if you actually "helped" newbies or anyone for that matter, they'd usually show their appreciation by signing up under you. Agree those days have long gone. However, there has been a noticeable shift in culture here. And, with that, a explosion in affiliates when WP and other CMS's turned things into 'plug-n-play' per se.

Previously one had to either be a coder, or pay a developer to do that for them. Hence, it kept the numbers down, and IMO the quality of affiliates up, who, and reiterating, would gladly signup under anyone who genuinely helped them.

Even thanking people for posting help/assistance these days, is a hit-miss thing
It's probably why the old-timers, or those with help to give (errrr have bona fide cred), mostly don't bother these days!

I've never chased affiliate referrals but have noted some referral revenue at Commission.bz's BetOnline program.
It's about 1/4 the value of our own stats - so is a reasonable chunk.

I can't say about those days, but it is possible that due to competition and the fact that it's far beyond the new industry stage - people also less eager to help.

When i started, Dealer Dan helped me quite a bit and i have signed under him in few programs. Have to admit that now i do it less and usually thank with a link.

i got some ref and have worked with this for some years , those numbers you got are far away from mine , i could take away 3 zeros and still its not even close,

however casino subaffiliate gets a great extra income if you are lucky and got a really big ref . under your name , i think its really bad to only get 5% - 10% off this , big sites should have atleast 20% of the ref. income ,

i know some programs with great subaffiliate tearms %

    Pafpartners got Subaffiliate - Flatrate - 10% Tier 1, 5% Tier 2

I made something nice just by pure luck. My experience is that sub-commission most likely being shaved even more than regular commissions.

Bestpartners have 15% and I am trusting them (I am not sure they will be successful in Asia, but I trust them they will pay it).

Back in the old days I did rather well with a few programs, and still to this day have a few (very few) that throw me a few bucks every so often for sub affiliates.

I think what is key is only recommending groups that you gain solid earnings and those you feel will be around for the long term and treat players well. If you happen to consult or help newer affiliates, and continue to help them over the long term reach their goals, then you may possibly earn a few bucks, but only if they do.

Thanks everyone. I asked because I have a couple of sub affiliates and they are producing a little revenue but not much. I just couldn't find much info on affiliate websites about the programs that are offered.

The highest one I have is from intertops which is 5%, but I think you can negotiate this rate if you bring volume.

Nowdays it's probably better to go or a higher % yes. Back then, tier 2 was the better structure, because the pyramid structure had a lot of potential. Never managed to negotiate a tier 3 .

That date must a typo, cause to the best of my knowledge, the 1'st online casino didn't open till 1996.
And, the 1'st affiliate program didn't commence till around 1998/99.

It is better to go directly with affiliate network, rather then sub affiliate network.
