I know this might sound rookie-ish.... hey still learning

What is the process of adding affiliate game codes to wordpress? Also what are the best known backlinks and how would I add those on to wordpress as well and optimization how can I tell it was done correctly?

Had a partner doing this but things didn't work out. Any info would be much appreciated.
