Astonishing celebrities: top three of the cheekiest bets
Hardly ever anyone will get surprised of the tricks celebrities are used to do. Each new day brings out a new curious thing or big story. Nonetheless, some of them still manage to surprise even their sophisticated and experienced audience. So, just read this article and you’ll find out, what unites a star basketball player, a famous producer and an American writer.
Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal by the door
It seems like there is nothing you may need anymore, if you are a worldwide known basketball player and an actor in addition. You are already on the top of the world – just enjoy and bask in the glory! But Shaquille O'Neal is not the one to take the line of least resistance - he constantly shocks public with saucy pranks. The number one is, probably, the parlay with his coach on (who could ever imagine) the president Barack Obama!
Let us tell you the whole story: Shaquille decided to prove, that he may simply visit American president at his place – without any preliminary entries or calls to security, without identifying himself and storming the presidential palace. Just park his car by the gates of the residence, enter and speak to the foremost USA official. 1000 push-ups from the losing party were at stake.
On June 26, 2009 taxi dropped the basketball player at the White House. He said “hello” to the security and… understood that he lost the dispute. “They recognized me, they really did! But said: “Sorry, Shaq, we can not let you in”, - told the basketball player.
O’Neal assured everyone, that this loss did not make him upset in the least. But that day a twit “Was just packed off the White House. But whyyyyyy?” appeared on his Twitter page. We wonder, if 1000 push-ups discouraged Shaq from betting on presidents?
$40 Million Friends
They say, friendship and money have nothing to do together. But these two old fellows - producers Steven Spielberg and George Lucas - successfully disapproved this social bias after they parlayed.
This bet took place in 1977 before the release of “Star Wars. Episode IV: A New Hope”. George Lucas visited Spielberg at shooting of the movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” – that’s where they decided to bet on the box office of their films. But the trick is that each of them betted not on the film he produced – Lucas assured that Spielberg’s film would be the one to win, and the other in his turn was quite sure in the reverse outcome. Producer of the winning movie had to pay 2.5% from his revenue of the film to his rival.
“Close Encounters of the Third Kind” collected $303 million, whilst Lucas’s movie “Star Wars. Episode IV: A New Hope” got rough $775 million. Since then on Steven Spielberg gets his 2.5% from everything that is connected with the movie, he betted on, including remakes and reissues of the “Star Wars”. Experts estimated that enterprising Spielberg has already got $40 million from Lucas.
Brevity is the soul of wit
Ernest Hemingway is a famous mojito and daiquiri fan, that has been multiply reproached for his immoral behavior. Nonetheless, the genuine writer continued to work on his masterpieces and meanwhile participated in adventures.
And here is the one of the most incredible: once the writer parlayed with his colleagues (each of them betted $10 – a tidy sum for that time) that he would write an amazing story using not more than 10 words. Hemingway won the bet having written heartbreaking laconically: “For sale, baby shoes, never worn”. His colleagues had nothing to do, but concede.
By the way, this story has become the most tragic short story in the world history.
And you know why these people had to make their way by shifts and make such unbelievable bets? That’s obvious – they did not know about MaxCasino
You are lucky to have an opportunity to win any sum – for this purpose you just need to believe and trust your luck!
We sincerely wish you to gamble bright and pertly!
