    Default Attention Affiliate Managers

    Hi All,

Copyscape made us aware of a site that has mirrored ours.

    Our site: http://www.casinocashjourney.com

    Their site: xxxhttp://bestonlinecasinoz.info/ and xxxhttp://bestonlinecasinoz.info/ls_preview/

While I cannot find an affiliate tracking link, currently there is a banner in the header for Europa Casino. Do not click through this banner as it does not go to Europa Casino.

I wanted to make you aware that the site xxxhttp://bestonlinecasinoz.info/ does NOT belong to us.

The strange thing is that all of the links from this site goes to ours, with the exception of the Europa Casino banner.

We will be contacting Affiliate Managers via email to make all aware of the site.

    Thanks,

When i put that URL into my browser it redirects to askgamblers?

Edit: The main URL redirects but the second url goes to a page looking like your site.

    Strange.

I got the same results as renee,

I would send the host a take down notice and hopefully someone over at askgamblers will be notified of this so they can send one as well.

The host would have to be....ummm kinda slow to not see the truth in the complaint.

The site is currently hosted on T-Mobile/Core 2 ip space in Washington state.

The dns is hostgator, so not sure if they are the actual host or not.

NOPE, further research says probably not. A tracert shows the last hop as Websitewelcome_com. The hop before that does not indicate hostgator either so I would start with websitewelcome. Their abuse address is abuse @ the above domain.

I will send a pm with their contact details page at ARIN that includes the corporate and tech contact information along with phone numbers.

Strange that the ip the site is on seems to be owned and controlled by T-Mobile, but not sure why they got the space from a 2nd tier provider.

I will send links to both ARIN contact pages.

    Hi Renee and Rick,

We filed a DMCA with their hosting company, Host Gator. They did take down one page and we're still working on getting the other one taken down. I just noticed that too that the link is now forwarding to Ask. I'm not sure what they're trying to do.

    Thanks,

    CCJ

Interesting, I did not know there was a connection with the welcome site and hostgator, certainly explains all the spam from ip space carrying that arin information.

Well then, you can probably ignore most of what I sent ya....

Yea, using the site: operator to perform a google search, it appears they are just lazy and put that page/redirect or whatever in to see if they could gain some keyword juice from a high rated site that ranks on some of the keywords they researched.

Rick, do you know is it enough to rename the files from .html to .php to prevent mirroring attempts? For example, if CCJ renamed his home page from index.html to index.php, would mirroring still be possible?

No I do not think that would change, for a number of reasons.

First, the content on the page being served, is NOT being process and echoed out of a database, it is actual content embedded on the page.

As an example, I will pm you a quick test I just performed to prove that, since it will contain a link to a test page I do NOT want to link to it publicly.

If I misunderstood what you are trying to prove or disprove, lets start a thread to discuss it since it would be an interesting discussion.

I may have skewed my original test, let's discuss this in a different thread.

The above discussion is too important for CCJ to detract from that conversation.

    Hi All,

Host Gator took down the website. All pages now go to a 403 error page. Host Gator was very professional.

By the way Renee and Rick, that one page now does not redirect to AG.

What a waste of time and I'm sure this webmaster will just keep doing it.

    Thanks,

My sincere hope is that they actually LOST their account with no refund due since they violated the terms of service and not that they simply made them take down the pages. (I agree sure some minor terms violations should come with a warning, but content theft such as what happened here....nope)
