Since the title of this thread is "Avoid coinbase at all costs", I wanted to make readers aware of an XRP "issue" that coinbase is experiencing. Also easy way to transfer out for free from coinbase.. transfer it to gdax ( no tx fees ) then move it out again free of charge

I love coinbase although always used Poloniex myself for xrp purchases

only coinbase to gdax has free transactions because its their own exchange
although you can xfer out of gdax for free

Ledger Nano and Trezor are both great for anyone looking for a good hardware wallet. Most people store their coins in those wallets and only move the amounts they need to withdrawal to exchanges.

The head of Twitter just tweeted about getting a Trezor. He prefers that one because it's all open source but Ledger is not. I think that makes sense, so if I ever got one it would be the Trezor.
