Be aware of IOG text links

Not taking the proper time to look at my links, I realized that the playtechs I have listed on my site with the IOG affiliat program do not carry my affiliate tracker. I hovered over them today and found that the ( uwsga ) that should go at the end of the link was missing. I figured it was simply my error and I went to fix it. But to my surprise the affiliate tools that contain the text links at IOG had no trackers attached to them. They simply looked like this..... ( hover to see the link )

Nowhere does it say you have to add your own tracker. But Im surer if you do the problem will be resolved. however, affiliates should make sure they have correct links up with IOG because they missed a very important step when designing their page of links.

Wow, I hope you contacted IOG and let them know about this problem. I promote IOG, but not using their text links, but this info is good to know.

I just logged in to my account at IOG. When I click "Banner Settings" it shows me the correct link to use. This is what I see for my link.

Yes, if you use that method the links will have your tag included. If you use their links though, they will not. I just found it odd considering every other place includes your tag. I think they might be trying to pull a fast one for people like me who dont always check their links. Sending traffic to them without earning a cent while they make all the profit. This is a harsh statment, but after they did not reply to my email or fix the problem, i am having my doubts.

I always make a point of double checking my links, and when I am using banner and text links - The part where it was the URL <a href="http://www.com/948657> (example) - I copy and paste the url into Firefox and make sure that they redirect to the right page.

Call me a little paranoid, but a story like this makes me glad that I do check them. I would not be surprised if some online gaming sites do this, cause I would think that 90% of people do not check their links. I am not going to point fingers at any specific online gaming site, but I have had this happen to me last year with a certain company.

the fist thing i do when joing a new affiliate program is check the links track correctly or else i dont promote them....
