Back At It Again, Kind Of...

Hey everybody, I've been away from gambling affiliate marketing for some years now. I have a plan for a mainstream sports news website. So gambling sites won't be heavily promoted but will have a few pages focused on sports betting. The real aim is to get into google news and build up 100k+ monthly visitors. I know it will take months or a few years. Since the NFL season is starting next month and the NBA & NHL season starting the month after that, I thought it would be the perfect time to launch the website soon. I can easily write an NFL article with a word count of 1,200-1,500, NBA & NHL around 550-800 words per article. So content will be the easy part for me.


My trouble is coming up with a name for the website and picking a web host. I'm looking for a web host that is gambling affiliate friendly just in case I change my mind about not promoting gambling sites heavy. Every domain I have thought about, the .com version is already taken. I have seen some good .net and .co domains but with this plan and the amount of years I am ready to put into this website. I want the .com version.


I know I would like to have 1 of these 3 words in the domain name.

Update
After about 4-5 hours searching for a domain name I like and cross checking them on social media sites. I finally found a name I can work with. I managed to get a domain name with 2 of the 3 words from above. However, I am still looking for someone to recommend me a good web host. I will gladly sign up using your affiliate link.

I wouldn't say that as gospel allfreechips - I've made six figures many times over with .net .org domains in the last few years - .com is preferred but I will always take the best domain I can find in any extension.

What kind of changes? I really specialize in onsite SEO, so my question is more so about onsite SEO. Is there anything I shouldn't do on my website that was working 4 years ago?

Having a keyword in a domain name is great, but why not to go by concept of the name which everyone remembers? Sportsnewsreport.com or Sportsy.com? I would personally go for second one.

Especially when all of the domains with keywords are sold. Considering how SEO is changing domain name wouldn't matter a lot, it's more about content.

I found a domain easy to remember with keywords in it. I do agree content is more important. I just wanted to get the basics done first. Content is always most important to me. I have a few more questions but I will start threads in the right sections.

If you're doing white hat SEO, no reason to worry, rules are the same like 4 years ago. Just do great content and have a decent product, that should do the trick.

Thanks Tom, I always do white hat SEO. I never cared for black hat or grey hat SEO. Great content will be my main focus.
