Gambling the "devils business"?!

In one of the reply's to a thread recently one member said that gambling is the "devil business", I suppose it's true to a certain extend if not done in moderation it eventually leads to problem gambling etc.

But then again so could sex for that matter, too much sex can lead to sex addiction take Tiger Woods for example. So could overeating which leads to gluttony, too much drinking to alcoholism and so forth. At the end of the day no matter what you do it boils down to two things balance and moderation. Like all good things in life, if not done in moderation it eventually leads to the "devils business". Just my opinion...

After all, organised religions require you to make a decision on the existence of 'their' god; a decision for which there exists no physical evidence.

It depends on how the business will be manage. As long as the players will be taking his responsibility whenever he do gambling. Just a bit of taking responsibility to every action on the business.

Piece of friendly advice, the last person who mentioned a "God" related topic in a post upset quite few people, which turned into a very heated thread.

Whilst I agree everyone should be able to express their opinions, I've found Religion and Politics should be avoided.

Yeah I agree, Obsession or addiction are what give gambling the "devils business" everything done too much is not necessarily good and can bring negative consequences.

I'd say gambling is as much the Devil's Business as so many other things in this world which are better accepted although they can be as - if not more - destructive on a certain level.

It is all a matter of perspective and individual likes and dislikes - or in this case, a greater or lesser general consensus.

Many people have always been quick to dub certain things "Devil's Business" because of the negative connotation they apply on it - regardless of whether it is founded or not. Personally I think they are just a bunch of narrow-minded hypocrites who do so to appear holier-than-thou.

A bit like this guy who was murdering women whom he found tempting - of course he claimed they were all trying to seduce him and take him off the right path - because they were the Devil's Feathers.

As we say, the Devil is in the details.

Perception = reality simple as that. its not evil to Steve Wynn or Sheldon Aldelson now is it?

I think everyone is being very nice here and avoiding the elephant in the room.

As affiliates we make profits from the big spenders. Some of those big spenders are wealthy individuals who can afford to gamble away a lot of money BUT some are also people who have gambling problems.

Someone could be spending 20%, 50% or even 150% of their wages on gambling if they have a gambling problem. As affiliates, we just see the money and don't ever need to face the full picture.
