Default Bad news for Portuguese operators

"Last week, Portuguese media outlet Jornal de Negocios reported that the government’s fiscal 2019 budget would include a new 25% flat tax on online gambling revenue, replacing the incremental 15-30% tax on online casino revenue and the truly punitive 8-16% tax on sports betting turnover."

Unfortunately these proposed changes didn't follow through

Some big name operators like Betfair on Bet365 had their eyes on the portuguese market but it looks like such interest will definitely die down during 2019...

It is a good news for affiliate marketing because more will go dark. The legal market in Portugal is dead. Absolutely dead.

I agree with Sherlock. More companies will go dark and SEO traffic will bring more revenue.

Agree with above comments. Want to drive industries to dark/grey markets simply over tax them. Will have no affect on consumption and more negative effect on governments. Just look at other industries such as tobacco.
