Banned Gambling Domain
I recently purchased an expired dot com domain relating to the casino industry.
The domain has been live for several weeks now. I have started creating a website with original content using Wordpress and have all the <acronym title="Search Engine Optimization">SEO</acronym> plugins etc, etc.
Normally my sites get indexed by Google pretty quickly, however nothing is visible yet for this new domain. It seems it may be banned by Google.
I have submitted a reconsideration request, which can take several weeks for them to review.
My question is how successful are reconsideration requests when it comes to gambling related domains? Has anybody on this forum had success previously?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

I think the question should be: why was the domain banned in the first place ? There are varying degrees of TOS violations. Google is sometimes receptive to reconsideration requests, IF the problem has been rectified, and the nature of the problem isn't on the extreme side. Of course, I would emphasize in your request that you purchased the domain, threw all the "old" code out, and rebuilt it from scratch. I would think, if you don't violate their TOS with this redesign, that they will be receptive to your request.

thanks dhayman, that's basically what I have done. There was no old code as the it was an expired domain that I have re-activated. So my code is all brand new and should be 100% Google friendly.
I guess the proof is in the pudding, I will just have to wait and see.

Hooray!
Google reconsidered in my favour. My domain is now listed in the Google directory.
