    Default Banner Code Change

A while ago I updated my VA banner link code and it's in forms of
    http://beta.vegasaffiliates.com/Bann...essClick.aspx?...

Today I check the codes at VA websites and it change to the form of
    http://www.vegasaffiliates.com/Banne...essClick.aspx?...

Is this a changing of code again?
This would be very annoying for those of us that have banners on many pages and we need to have the code change from time to time to get the same banner.

So what is the latest official statement about the banner code?

    Hi,

Yes the banner codes do need to be changed from the new system. The old codes are not serving anymore.

If you changed codes again - WHY did you not send out notices to affiliates and/or make an official announcement here on this forum?

GPWA - this is NOT acceptable!

I was just looking for the actual post that showed this, but we had a discussion with them in early to mid august where they said that the beta links should be replaced with the www links although the beta links would track for a while.

Now, in my opinion, the beta links should continue to track because all they really have to do is make sure the web service answers for that name ( beta.domain) and (www.domain) and that the dns is correct for both sub-domains or aliases.

I don't ever recall getting an email from them regarding the changes; possibly I missed it - possibly one was never sent?

I'm on the VA site right now collecting new codes and they still are not accurate / streamlined...

    http://beta.vegasaffiliates.com/Bann...ick.aspx?btag=

    http://www.vegasaffiliates.com/Banne...ick.aspx?btag=

    http://record.vegasaffiliates.com/

Which method is correct? Why aren't all the links similar? Kind of tough to update when you don't have a clue what to use.

    ----

EDIT ... I was logged into the beta. site - they seem to be www. from the main site... NOW if they would only remove that noose they have around my account!

    Hi,

I apologize if you were not aware that the codes needed to be changed. An email was sent out informing all affiliates. If it helps let me know the banners for which casino's you want and the sizes and I can send you the codes by email.

Again, I apologize to any affiliates who were not aware of this, and please let me know if I can be of assistance in any way.

    Arkyt,

What I do and seems to be effective for me, is use the same link for all campaigns and banners.

I use the link with the www format, and all testing I have done so far leads me to believe the tracking is accurate.

Once you have a link for each casino you plan on marketing, all you need from that point are the creatives themselves. (this method only works when you plan on serving your own banners though)

Although I am one of the strongest supporters of campaign tracking and using different campaigns for each site I publish links on, I feel that VA's method of setting up campaigns etc to be very cumbersome and difficult to use so I have not spent the hours and hours needed to do so.

And since there has not been a complete resolution to the terms changing I have no plans to do so in the near future.

Yes, thats pretty much what I do as well ...

Agreed - I'm not ready to start sticking them pack on my main pages; least of not until the winner streak ends! The terms change is a bad deal, but it doesn't affect me much when every player I have wins big 11/12 months a year.

and, the bonus showing in banners are out-of-date AGAIN!!
This is very poor marketing material for the group.
Quite some top spots have been removed for the group because I can't find the right banner to use.

Rick you might find it cumbersome however I can't even get it to work. Tried the basic and advanced areas and all I get is a web objects error. Can't remember if I have updated the remaining links or not so I thought I would check after reading this thread.

Any other users having problems or is it a Mac thing? Tried Safari and Firefox.
