BBN Network Affiliates

I'm curious if anyone else recently received an email from Liz Gascoigne at BBN Network Affiliates. We do not actively promote them, so I wasn't personally bothered by the termination.

The email reads as follows:

To whom it may concern,

I am emailing to terminate the affiliate contract between Digital Pop (BBN Affiliates) and yourselves (“the Agreement”).

Clause 10.2 of the Agreement permits either party to terminate the Agreement by 1 months' notice. We are terminating the Agreement because the service delivered is no longer required within the Operators current business strategy. Please note affiliate payments for the above named agreement would have been received from NMS Ltd.

Please find attached a letter of termination which outlines the consequences of termination. We ask that you please acknowledge receipt of this within seven working days by signing, dating and returning the enclosed copy.

Dear Sirs,
Termination of the Digital Pop (BBN Network Affiliates) Affiliate agreement
I am writing to terminate the above affiliate contract between Digital Pop (BBN Affiliates) and yourselves (“the Agreement”).
Clause 10.2 of the Agreement permits either party to terminate the Agreement by 1 months' written notice. We are terminating the Agreement because the service delivered is no longer required within the Operators current business strategy. Please note affiliate payments for the above named agreement would have been received from NMS Ltd.
For ease of comprehension, Clause 10.2 of the Agreement states that “this Agreement may be terminated by either party at any time if one month’s written notice is given.”

The consequences of termination are as follows:

11.1 Upon the termination of the Agreement, the Affiliate shall immediately remove all Links from its sites. The Affiliate shall not be entitled to any Commission after the termination date.
11.2 Clauses 9.6 and 11.3 shall survive the termination of this Agreement.
11.3 The Affiliate shall acquire no rights following the termination of this Agreement to use any (1)registered or unregistered trade-marks or design rights (2) domain names (3) any text, or images, banners (4) any other works created by or for the Merchant's Website.

These stipulations must be adhered to from the effective date of termination of the Agreement, the 23<sup>rd</sup> August 2013.

Before I proceed in any direction with this letter, I'm curious if they're changing their entire business model or if they're just trying to get rid of inactive affiliates.

athPr></w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->If they're trying to get rid of inactives, I'm curious why they didn't reach out to try to develop a relationship with us beyond the weekly spam they send us.

If they're changing their business model to no longer maintain affiliate relationships, I'm curious on how they're going to "fairly" compensate affiliates from being detached from their player base.

Either way, Liz can look forward to a very creative response from us.

I received it as well but didn't really do much with them. It's a strange email to be honest. I'm not sure what to make of it but it looks like they're changing their entire business model.

They're probably going for the get rich quick model where you screw all your affiliates out of their commissions and keep all their playing players. There seem to be quite a few going this way recently.

That's what I had thought but I was hoping to hear from someone who actively promotes them to better understand their intentions. Like I hinted earlier, I plan to have fun with and make an example out of this one.

Hi Doolally, I had to laugh when I read your post! Matter of fact, I'm still laughing!! We emailed Liz a few times and she told us that the sites will remain open but there will no longer be any affiliate tracking available and therefore no players will be tracked including existing players. At present there is no plan for a new Affiliate system to be put in place.

So Doolally, you had it right. Our last email to Liz was asking if affiliates will be compensated for their existing players. No response as of yet.

Is it safe to assume that you have a player base of some sort with them?

Yes Shay, we have small player base and communication with Liz.

Hi All,

We just heard back from Liz. She said that the following sites will be closing by the end of July - Bloke Bingo, Bingo Nation, Live Bingo and Ace Bingo.

They're going to process payments in August (for July commissions) with the final payment being sent in September.
