    Default Beginner needs help!

I'm glad to have found this site. I have some questions:

Can I really make a profit at this? It would be wonderful to make $2,500/month with a portal.

Can I expect to do this only a couple of hours/week?

What kind of marketing budget should I be working with?

Any other tips are much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all assistance.

Yes, you can make a profit.

No, you will be putting in a lot of time. Most of us who make money do this full time.

You need the biggest budget you can get. Alternately, you need to spend as much time as possibly possible.

There is a lot to learn to make a go of it.

Yes, you can definitely make money. Or you can not.

It depends on so much, but mostly your dedication. It'll take a few to several months to even get your first commission check, and during that time it's definitely more than a couple of hours a *DAY*.

    Hi,
I have had my first domain since September 2002.
I work on my site morning, noon and night, 7 days a week. I had started seeing a little income in November and December of 2002, this has slacked off already.

I was aware of the hard work and I am determined to be successful since I have already had a small taste of what the fruits of my labor can bring.

Im not trying to discourage you, just help you not to be discouraged and not to expect things to happen overnight. You will find you have lots to learn as I have found. But, with persistance, you will learn! Everybody here that is doing well has been where we are at least once, that's what I try to keep in mind. Then I look to what the future might be

All of the members here have been great to me and have been helping me so much. You have definately come to the right place for help! The members here truly care.

    Good Luck

    Here's my motto

"Late to bed and early to rise. Work like hell and Advertise!"

It does take a huge amount of initial effort and learning to crack into the business. There are no guarantees and 95% fail to earn enough money to work full time at this. There will be numeorus ups and downs along the way. You have to advertise wisely, network with your peers, build quality sites, use paid domains, promote the right casinos and if everything falls into place you CAN earn a very nice living.

Learn - Apply - Persevere- Earn

    Good Luck

    Hi Alan,

As a "beginner" myself, I can say it does take time and lots of research and learning, and it is worth doing, and not entirely because of the income one may earn from this sort of venture (which they all say can be substantial), but also because of the other more intangilbe rewards.

I look forward to seeing your new site up and running, and wish you the best.

Seeing that u wrote "learn", I would like to add "Share your knowledge and experience" at the end of your quote

I'm still learning alot from this forum, and hope to pass it to others when time comes!
I have been working on my portal, (part time) for over 3 months now (its not static html, u know how much time dynamic content takes time to develope )

good luck with ur project akscher.

    Ed.
