Default Best advice to increase traffic!?!

Hi all, (1st thread at this forum!)

We have a site http://www.yourcasinocorner.com that has been up for 3 months or so. It has currently PR2-PR3 but we have not been working that hard with any sort of promotion (low-budget right now).

However, since we have little to none traffic right now we feel that it is time to do something to increase traffic. What is the best way? What kind of money do one have to invest? More link exchange? SEO? What are your secret tricks? (yeah right, like you would tell )

We would appreciate feedback on the page as well.

    Thanks

    Nice site

Given that you have a low traffic volume you may want to drop the number of banners a bit to get your load time up slightly. Somewhere along the line I read that the visitor can be impatient and leave. Some of them even have ridiculous expectations so do your best to please.

You can buy traffic but treat it as a branding exercise and don't expect too much from purchased traffic.

SEO, the more you do the better but remember to follow good advice and not bad. Forums like seochat are good places to hang out and asking specific questions here will also bring an honest answer to the fore.

Advice? You are probably in the sandbox (its a kind of dampening effect on your results that is in place on new sites by google). The best advice is to add content, links, and as you mentioned, to do some SEO. The best investment is effort and time will reward you.

Ok, I've read much about buying traffic and it seems hard to get some serious targetted traffic. If we wanted to try this out, were would we actually spend our money? And how much do one have to pay for good traffic?

Well, the famous sandbox. When will I get up? Time and effort, I will put in, but you would like some results along the way to get encouraged!

I have bought traffic from Casinoglen with reasonable results (a handful of downloads and some players). I followed that up with a purchase that flopped somewhat and then a new batch that was encouraging again. The fact is that no-one is going to give away good traffic. If it was that good, they would simply put together a splash page for a casino or a few casinos and use the traffic themself. It is VERY rare that you will break even on bought traffic.

With PPC, I have read that you can make it work but you have to target ridiculous phrases like "play slots with 5 reels and cherries" to get away from the PPC theft by paid link clickers (there is a thread somewhere). Basically, all the good search terms are targetted by guys who are subaffiliates of a search engine and get paid commission on clicks. They then employ people at a % commission to simply click your link. Bots are also used to do this.

Just about everyone here had to wait a minimum of 6 months to see some progress and then longer to break through and see excellent results. Simply put, I, like many other webmasters here am working 14 to 15 hours a day. BUT I have been going since 2003. All my sites, added to daily for 24 or more months more than yours. What odds that you will catch webmasters like this in the short term? Minimal I am afraid. But, in the longer term and with a good marketing and SEO plan you can probably overtake us.

One more point though, your targeted keywords are pretty high profile. Try optimise for lesser phrases. That way, you can make front page of google, yahoo, and MSN and at least get maybe some good traffic. I would rather be number 3 for "newest casino slots" than number 11 for "online slots". Simply put, I get way more hits for "newest casino slots" than "online slots" by a long long way.

Thank you again for taking time and giving advice, bigbcasinos!

We will reconsider our choice of targetted keywords, we are probably aiming a bit high for now. We will also consider if buying traffic will be a choice for us, right now we will probably be adding content and working our way out of the sandbox instead of investing in no-good traffic.

    Have a nice day!

You can try advertising on Overture UK, or other countries that Overture is in. You will get positive results and sign up some players. But you might also spend more than you earn. Espotting is also solid, they have good European exposure.

At the moment the only good ppcs in north america dont currently accept gambling ads.

Personally, while I find it's posible to have a positive ROI using ppc I dont think it's worth the hassle and stress. You have to watch your stats like a hawk and report any bogus activity. I do a lot of ppc for non gambling stuff but since the bids are a lot lower, you dont have to worry about click fraud.

You can also try seo. I dont think anyone will share any secrets.

Default Best advice to increase traffic

If you are really interested in increasing traffic you might want to try buying targeted opt-in email addresses. These addresses are broken down into categories and are sold with email blasting software. Some marketing experts say that email marketing will give you on average a 2% response. Follow this link you should be able to purchase some email addresses. http://www.1-bulk-email-mailing-address-list.com/
