Best coveting soccer league

I am trying to figure out which leagues/counties convert best in soccer for american players. This is the first time I am promoting soccer, I want to start with one league, I was thinking mls. Does anyone have any recommendations ?

Although your question sounds simple - it's asking two and probably three questions in one.

Firstly, which league attracts the most attention for US "soccer" fans.
Secondly, what content will generate betting interest?
Finally, which US accepting books match that content.

The first question was which league? - and it depends a little bit on the location of the reader, and the likelihood that the league is covered on TV.

For example, if you had a large Texas / California following then yes they are aware of the MLS - but I'm sure that the Mexican Leagues will be far more passionately followed by a bigger number of readers who follow football. After that South American football. and maybe MLS as 3rd?

If you are targeting a different market - perhaps the white college kid market - then you probably can cover a number of MLS teams but once again you need to be aware of the pulling power of the TV screen and I am sure that you will get more action by covering the English Premier League with a US style view.

In times past I would have said that Spain's La Liga (especially Real Madrid and Barcelona) would have been an obvious choice, but La Liga have made a series of faux pas with the awarding of TV right to GolTV and beINSport ... and so this league is suffering from a lack of interest in the US despite having players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Secondly, what content? The more your content hooks into match results and betting angles - then the more likely that you will generate betting interest. So match previews and predictions do best, while team gossip, transfer news, and injury reports get traffic but little betting interest.

The last question was which bookmaker? - depends on the sort of betting angles you will write about - and making sure that the 2/3 bookmakers that you promote have a good reputation and a good range of bets that match your writing. For example it's pointless talking about first goalscorer bets if the bookmaker only does win-draw-win bets and very few "prop' bets.

As you can see ... while you asked a simple question - the answer is not simple. When you sit down and think about the market, it's huge size and diverse interests then think of the tactics to attract, retain and convert the traffic.
