    Default Betting market by sports

While browsing through various sites, I came across a page that presented statistics on betting.

I'll be honest and say that I was very surprised to see that Basketball and Horses are almost as popular/value as football!
I always knew that betting on horses had a very high market share, but I didn't expect it to be that high.

What do you think of these statistics? They are probably only based on regulated markets hence the slightly strange results.

Absolutely, horse racing and greyhound racing is a huge industry. There are races on every day.

I heard prize money is well up in Australian horse racing and that's one of the key reasons it's maintaining a position. It's one of the big problems for the UK industry, aside from (or in addition to) what the UKGC might do to it.
