Default Best Social Network for a Gaming Site?

I recently launched a gaming website and wanted to try doing some marketing via social networks. I'd like to try and focus on just one or two networks in the hopes of it working better than trying to spread things out across multiple sites. I'm thinking Reddit and Facebook, but also considering Twitter, TikTok and Pinterest... any suggestions?

I'd say gather some data + do some analysis to see who's winning - generating engagement + buzz around their gambling brands, on different social networks, and try to break down how they do it (tactics + strategies => influencers, hashtag optimization, competitions? ). crunch the numbers, run some tests. at least this way you know what is likely to work *before* allocating time and effort to any particular strategy.

I would advise you to skip Facebook. We've started out by growing our Twitter presence and built a consistent YouTube channel. However, we've seen the fastest growth and biggest impact when we started doing YouTube shorts, Instagram Reels, and when we started our Tik Tok channel. So I'd tell you to focus on short form video content for fast growth.

Right now, it looks to me like Tik Tok is the best social network for business, no matter where you are in the world. If you post content constantly, Tik Tok helps you out. It allows you to reach a lot of people really easy. The deal is, you have to post a lot. It is hard at first, because you are allowed to do live streams only after a certain number of followers, but after that it seems to me that it is easy to create content.

In the gaming industry, there are a lot of easy to do content ideas. And they work for live streams. Like you can talk about bonuses at a certain casino, or about a certain slot game, or about betting tips. And if you are careful and do your research, your content can easily reach thousands of people.

Once you get to this point, you just need to find the right formula to get people to click and either go to your website or click on your affiliate links and register.

But definitely, if I were to launch a new online business right now, I would do it on Tik Tok. No matter the business. The only restriction on Tik Tok is that you have to have good and original content. So, if you have a decent camera on your phone and if you create the content yourself, not copy what others have already done, it should work great. And you can also use what others have done, but this will not help you for very long. Now, with the Euros, I took a piece of video from an interview done by one of the TV stations. It was just some funny thing that happened and I wanted to share it with my followers. I have about 900 followers. But the video got about 3500 views in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately, after that it was flagged as not original and its distribution was reduced. But the speed with which it got to so many views in such a small amount of time is incredibile. This is why I think that Tik Tok is the best social network for businesses right now.

The best part of your strategy is that you can extract short videos from a long-form video and adapt the content to the characteristics of each platform. It's not for everyone, and it can be challenging to put yourself out there, so I deeply respect the effort of consistently creating that type of content.

Discord is the best social network platform for a gaming site. It's designed specifically for gamers, allowing them to create and join communities, communicate via voice, video and text chat, and share gaming content. It also supports integration with a wide range of gaming services. Other alternatives can be Twitch, Reddit, or Steam.

Thank you for mentioning it. As you said, Discord is excellent for integration and maintains anonymity (which is attractive to many players). It's a shame that its use isn't as widespread, and many users don't know how to make the most of it. But it's a great alternative, and I think it has the potential to go big in the coming years.

I’d say it’s LinkedIn because it’s harder to create and manage accounts there. As a result, Google tends to trust LinkedIn more than Facebook or Instagram. So, in terms of adding trust to a site, LinkedIn profiles are more valuable to Google than other popular social networks

I agree with Joseph about short video format being the best option for fast growth in 2024. We decided to go with youtube shorts for our site. Started from 0 earlier this year and now we have 60k views and 60+ followers (with 30-something short videos)

We tried instagram too, but that platform just kept banning our accounts and it was impossible to get in contact with them to dispute their decision.

I agree with Mr. Fallon that short-form video content is a powerful tool for rapid growth, especially in 2024. Platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels provide immense reach and engagement opportunities. However, I would suggest combining this with a platform like Reddit for gaming-specific discussions. Reddit's niche communities such as gaming, allow for targeted interaction and organic promotion, which can build a loyal audience over time. While short videos capture attention, engaging in Reddit discussions helps build credibility and direct traffic to your gaming site. This combination could create a well-rounded strategy.

I would do all of them except for FB (but I guess I just don't understand it).
For me the Facebook audience is some old people who are 50 years old and they go to Facebook by default even without understanding why.
In general, I would focus on tiktok/youtube shorts. It seems to me that this is the easiest way to get a boost in followers and btw you always have a chance to become viral on that platforms.

Agreed on all. Short formats to attract attention fast and get quick results + platforms like Reddit that reward consistency and quality interaction (not to mention that Reddit is gaining a lot more traction this year).

I know Telegram has been huge for gambling brands and affiliated in recent years. Are there any good resources for how to use Telegram in this context, in 2025? I also understand it's pretty market specific so any advice on that topic is very welcome.
