1) buy ahrefs.com account for 1 month (it costs 70-80$, I guess) and check your competitors, discover their places for links - it is the best way to get not only high links that you can buy but also you will find free places. Actually, I think that ahrefs is must have seo instrument and I have bought account for 1 year=))
2) find a copywriter, if you have an office (I dont know about your country but in my, Ukraine, I can find really cool copywriters for 250-300$ per month and 1 copywriter will write me 120-140k symbols per month, each article will be unique). Frankly speaking, if you want to hire a copywriter be ready to teach him/her and you will get awesome results.
3) think about designer=)) you may find a guy who will create some infographics for your sources. I guess 1-2 infographics per month can give you some free links if you know how to spread it through the net.
P.M. And dont even try to spend all your money on 2-3 links because in gambling niche 2-3 links per month is nothing=) try to think, analyze competitors and do unique things.

Don't forget,

Many of your competitors will block ahref's from spidering their sites since it does ZERO for them except eat up valuable bandwith.

At the moment I test ads on Facebook it's really amazing how many users you can get through this portal. By. to me this is a much better option than google adwords.

well, my competitors feed me.. I have found a lot of cool donors by ahrefs.
p.s. Facebook is a dark horse for me. Is there a method to get some good traffic (except ads on Facebook)

Facebook and twitter ads seem to be very effective currently for us, facebook also has partner deals with a lot of other sites. Instagram seems to be growing with ads. although without a good quality website and good content there is no point. Short term ads may work but you need to look further in the future.

This is actually interesting, because when i tried about 18 months ago Adwords wanted the business, about half an hour later they called to say i needed a license. I explained i wasn't taking bets and then i got confirmation it was ok --- About 24 hours had passed i got a phone call from their legal team in Ireland (i believe), and i was asked to explain again - I swear this went back and forwards for a few weeks - i finished up telling them i wasn't interested any longer!

I must admit i dithered for a while on signing up in the first place, since prices are extremely high for gaming - i guess this just acted as a deterrent!

You can use a mix off them, but take care about the sites with you are doing link exchange, just make some SEO investigation before putting their link on your site or your link on their site.
