Best UK Casinos

What casinos that allow UK players are the best? If you get some traffic from the UK for casinos, which casinos seem to convert the best for you?

All of my sites are pretty US focused and I want to try to diversify a little and put a page or create a site for UK players. Unfortunately being from the US I cant sign up at many casinos that allow non-USA players.

There are new rules about to come into play for the UK, so you might want to wait a couple of weeks before adding anyone that hasn't explicitly said they're staying in the UK market and are getting the relevant license. Most haven't commented either way so it's a case of twiddling our thumbs until October.

That aside, gambling is legal and regulated here meaning the general population has pretty good exposure and see's plenty of adverts on TV, on the tube/bus, in the paper etc.. Both of the big TV Satellite/Cable companies here have their own brands (Sky Vegas and Virgin Games) - so think the equivalent of 'Verizon Gaming' in the US.

The bigger brands may get lower sign ups due to the market saturation they receive, but retention is generally better (or so I've found) as their adverts and promos (etc..) keep them playing for a long time. The other advantage is that there's no way they'd pull out of the UK market so it's a 'safer' option for the long term (I've had multiple brands just 'pull out' of the country which effectively wipes your player base).

Alternatively you could go for the smaller casinos that don't have the brand recognition - you'll find it easier to get signups, but the retention will be lower.

Obviously it depends on your site - if you're aimed at newbies or rank for review or game type terms, I'd push to the big brands. If you're more of a bonus site, go for the unknowns. Personally though I go for a mix of the two.

So, for the big brands I'd recommend:

- Sky Vegas
- Coral
- Bet365 (min of 5 players before you can get paid, but no quotas after that)
- BetVictor (note: these guys do have a quota so might want to avoid if you're only sending low numbers)
- Virgin Games

Big brands to avoid for being not affiliate friendly:

- Paddy Power (decent casino but affiliate terms are crap -no cross product and only a session cookie)
- Genting (screwed affiliates over recently by dropping their poker program but keeping the site open)
- Any Rank Group brand such as Grosvenor, Mecca etc.. (they just 'closed' their bluesq sportsbook but sold the whole player database to betfair and gave no credit to affs)

I'll keep my mouth shut on the lesser known casinos for now though, as we don't really know what's going to happen come October 1st...

Sarah here from Sky Vegas - we allow UK players and we are in the middle of gaining our relevant license, we are definitely remaining in the UK as this is our largest market.
