Same reason why people fight, meet dangerous people, go deliberately to wars... Life is boring for most people. Being on the edge with own life is stronger feeling than gambling, sex or drugs. They are doing it for feeling of power and kind of a freedom that comes when one is able to overcome his strongest instincts.

Looks so smooth and easy when they do it. I can understand them, not because I'd do the same, but I know some adrenaline junkies whose life seems boring to themselves without doing crazy, extreme and dangerous things like the one in the video.. I guess it's just their lifestyle.
Not my cup of tea, although adrenaline was tempting to me when I was younger. I was always first in the queues for rollercoasters, heights, parachutes and wanted to "train" parachuting and piloting. Luckily (or not), they needed a parent signature which I didn't get

I'm not crazy about it anymore, not at all. With 32 I don't even enjoy slightest plane turbulence But sometimes it's still nice to have rollercoaster ride.

This reminds me of an article I read about people looking for that next high because the current high is not satisfying anymore.

For example, people who use drugs will never have the same high as they had the first time, so they are constantly looking for more of a high which is how some people who start by smoking weed or dabbing in mdma end up as full blown heroin addicts. It doesn't happen to everyone but that's how a lot of addicts become addicts.

Another example is porn. The same kind of porn doesn't get someone off anymore, so they look for something better, whether different genre or more risque.

There are many different places in life you could compare this to.

Yeah, there's a lot of things to be addicted to and trying to get higher and higher level of enjoying it. Adrenaline must be one of them for sure.

C'mon now you're from a younger generation you don't actually believe that nonsense the media spouts out? The notion that weed is a gateway drug is a myth.

I think something like 70% of young Australians have smoked pot at least once in their life. Do you think 70% of them or anywhere close to that number went on to do harder drugs? Of course not.

I don't believe weed is a gateway drug at all. It was just an example.
I do believe other drugs can be gateway drugs though, and only because I have seen it first hand. And I'm not saying every person who does it will end up that way, but I'm sure a high percentage of heroin users didn't just start on heroin.
