I was attracted to this bookmaker due to their generous odds, and their affiliation with oddsportal.com which gives the bookie some credit. The bookie is Russian but that didn't put me off the site initially.

I have made a deposit a few times but always lost, however the other day I decided to make a withdrawal of my winnings. It came up about having to verify my identity which I totally understood, most bookmakers do this nowadays.

The terms of verifying your identity are shown below, presented to me on the withdrawal page for verifying my persona.

We will ask that you send us a photocopy or scan of one document from each of the categories listed below:

1) Personal Identification — one Photo ID from the following list:
— Passport,
— Driving Licence,
— National Identification Card (photographic),
— Citizenship Certificate


2) Address Verification — one of the following:
— Utility Bill (less than 3 months old)
— Tax Bill
— Copy of Bank Statement — (less than 3 months old)


3) Source of Payment Verification — one of the following:
— BET2BE.com account registered Credit or Debit Card (front only)
— Copy of Credit or Debit Card account statement of a BET2BE.com registered card (less than 3 months old)
— Copy of bank statement — must have BET2BE.com transaction or card number visible on it (less than 3 months old)

I uploaded a photocopy of my credit card for part 3, my bank statement for part 2 and my drivers license for part 1. The bank statement was accepted, and the credit card, however the person wasn't happy with my drivers license, it's the same drivers license anyone has in the UK, a photographic card. Here is the conversation I had with them in full.

At first when I opened a support ticket asking why my photo ID was declined they closed the ticket 3 times without responding, and as the day has gone on kept closing tickets without issues being responded to.

I'm quite disappointed as I opened a ticket asking this same exact question 24 hours ago yet my ticket was closed without a reply. Why have my drivers license and utility bill (bank statement) been rejected, and the credit card still hasn't been approved?

At this point they kept closing the support ticket, and I had to copy and paste the discussion as the time went on. The person rather unprofessionally asked me to take a 'selfie' with the photo ID in hand, to prove I was the owner of the drivers license. I did so, and sent this to them.

At this point my bank card and utility bill were both approved.

So what do you want me to do? I don't have any other photographic ID. I don't understand why you would expect another form of photo ID when the initial terms only state you need the one photo ID.

After initially only wanting my drivers license to verify my identity, a clear photo ID, they now wanted a citizens ID as well, a second document which people in the UK do not have.

At this time they keep closing tickets without responding, and I can't make a withdrawal until I somehow come up with some magical other photo ID which I don't possess.

The whole thing stinks, and a drivers license, utility bill and bank card have always been more than enough for bookies such as Bet365, Betfair and others.

I'm going to keep updating this thread with the discussions I have with them. The person i'm speaking to seems to believe that everyone in the UK has a state issued photo ID, which anyone from the UK will know, they do not.

People in the UK don't have a photographic ID issued by the state. The only ID you can have is to pay and request one personally, but this isn't something issued to people when they are 18. Not everyone has a passport, although some people do drive like myself and this is why they have the drivers license which in cases like this is sufficient for verification.

I sent them an alternative photo ID from my old job, so I will see if that works to verify the account. Haven't heard anything back since. I gather that they close up shop for the support at 5pm GMT as I haven't heard anything since.

I'm always baffled when customer support agents have no idea about stuff like that. You're not required to have a passport at all and not all countries have a 'national ID'. Hate such ignorance

Bet2be still haven't replied for 4 days, yet seem to find the time to send me promotional emails. They rejected the alternative ID, another ID from past work which is also photographic and states my nationality on it.

Here's what they have to verify my identity so far, some would say this is more than enough.

- Bank statement with my address and name
- Drivers license (photographic)
- Alternative ID stating nationality (photographic)
- A selfie holding my drivers license (Bit unprofessional don't you think?)
- A scan of my debit card used to fund my account (front)

Anyone acting like this, gets the boot and you move on. Judging on their methods of approval, I bet the payments and other stuff would have similar shade.

Yeh I read on another forum that someone had to wait 17 days to get payment, even after they had been verified.
