    Default Bet365 affiliate problem (RESOLVED)

    Hello guys,

today when i logged into my bet365 affiliate account to see the stats for yestersay i saw something for the first time that i can't understand.

When i looked at the stats i saw that i had: -1 new players, -1 new deposit players, the deposit amount was also negative, -67 deposits, -397 bets and the commision was negative also. And they deduct a big amount from my monthly commision.

I contact an affiliate manager and he asked me for my username. After telling my username he didn't give me an answer and told me i should contact my affiliate manager.

Then i contact my affiliate manager but i didn't get a reply to my question.

It is not understandable how someone can have a negative number of new players, depositing players, deposits and bets.

Seems that bet365 affiliate have started to work with several tricks.
This situation is very unserious for a big bookmaker.

Was anybody confronted with such a situation, too ?

    Regards,
    George

wait till they get back to you before you start to panic, they will do, they are pretty decent

it could well be a fraud player or something. I have had it before, didn't worry about it

And still nobody give an answer.

Fact is that BET365 AFFILIATE deduct a conversion of over 65.000€ from my affiliate account and nobody of them care about this and din't want to tell what happened.

This is the worst affiliate programm from all sportsbook affiliates. The others a usully give a quixk answer and tell what is going.
    I can't recommend bet365 affiliate to anyone!

I've seen this over the years with Bet365 too - thankfully, not very often. As thebookiesoffers says, it's probably a fraudulent player or someone playing on a stolen credit card. Don't throw Bet365 under the bus for this. It's better that they put the negative numbers you are seeing in your stats than the player disappears from the stats altogether.

For my money, Bet365 are one of the best, most affiiate friendly, bookmakers in Europe.

If i judge an affiliate program i think this my decision.

An affiliate which doesn't reply to queries is unserious and especially when they took over 65.000€ and don't are interested to tell what happened.
This is the worst affililiate program i have seen.

Who knows why they took the commison exactly ?
I see the only in what they are interested is to keep the money in the company and nothing more.

You can see that from commision they paid in the german market.

Now they shove the 5% taxes to the website owners. That means with a payout rate of 94% they take the 5% from the affiliate accounts and what is left for the website owners only 1% now and they have a negative carry over also.

At the moment Bet365 affiliate is the worst and unprofitabel affiliate programm for sport betting in the german market. There are some other affilate programms which shove the 5% taxes to the affiliates but they dpn't have a negative carry over and are more profatble than Bet365.
Promoting Bet365 in the german market is time wasting now!

Of course i am going to remove all promotion material and suggest to other affiliates not to waste by promoting Bet365.
There are much better affiliate programs.

    Hi Georgios,

I understand you emailed me in the first instance.

I can confirm your Affiliate Manager is Ruth who has emailed you on the above matter today.

I believe there was a typo in her email address where it is fact ruth.oleksik@bet365.com

Hopefully the above clears up any misunderstanding.

    Kind regards,

    Karl

The e-mail address isn't the problem.

I saw that you made a misstype when sent the e-mail address to me.
But i realized that and send the e-mail to the right e-mail address yesterday.
I had contact Ruth in the past several times.

So your misstype doesn't affect the situation.

I have had this many times with B365 and on the occasions I have asked about it (only when it has a huge bearing on the stats) Bet365 have always told me the precise reason. Sometimes it could be a fraudulent player. Other times it is just temporary when they suspend a player. If that player becomes active again then you will see the figures re-instated on the day that happens. Bet365 are an excellent firm who always respond fully and transparently. They have never palmed me off just to get rid of my query. If only every program was as good . . .

Had a very similar situation happen last month - suddenly showing large negatives, larger than the monthly totals.

To be fair to bet365, the affiliate manager handled it well in explaining the situation and the stats were reversed the following day.

But the interesting point was that I enquired how far back a player's stats could be reversed. I would have thought that a suspended player's stats - either through chargebacks, fraud or self-exclusion - could only be set back to the previous month's reconciliation. The aff manager told me that, in theory, the stats could be reversed for the lifetime of a player. Imagine that! With their negative carry over policy, you could be years clearing it...

Why would stats be reversed for self-exclusion? The money the player has lost to that point remains lost - it is not refunded to him.
Did Bet365 actually tell you a player's stats could be reversed for self exclusion?

I don't actually know why a player's stats are reversed for an initial suspension either. Again, no money has been lost when a player's account is suspended. Only a chargeback scenario would actually incur a reversal of losses.

Dunno. Maybe I'm misreading it. Here's the replies:

    re negative stats showing:

"it may be when a player has suspended their account for one reason or another"

    and

when "one of your Referred Customers has been suspended, usually due to circumstances of fraud."

Which would imply that a suspension could be self-imposed or company-imposed.

In the case of a suspension:

"where one of your Referred Customers is suspended, any Referral Commissions previously earned from this Customer will be reversed out from your statistics on the date that the suspension was made. The stats can be reversed for the lifetime of the player, however it is very unlikely this would ever be the case. The fraud team are very good at identifying cases early and therefore its very uncommon that a situation whereby large revenues would be reversed."

Common sense would dictate that it's only company-imposed suspensions that would result in a lifetime reversal, but I'm not sure that's implied in the above.

Yes is true, the stats could be reversed for the lifetime of a player since the negative commision couldn't be higher than the monthly commision.

In my situation i get informed from bet365 that the player is claiming that a third party has access to the account. The affilate manager answer my queries.
Until now nothing happened and i am sure that my commision is gone.

There is nothing to do but i am wondering how easy it is to get a chargeback. A player bets and lose a lot of money, the bets can be placed from from another person (maybe a friend) and that was! He can claim for a chargeback.
If they win it is all ok and when they lose they can claim for a chargeback for accessing by a third party or stolen credit card.

Another reason for wondering is how can an account be accessed by a third person, seeing his bankroll go down and closing his account after months when he lose all hois money.

Since then i maintain my sites but i have stopped spending time for sports betting sites since it is not much worth for webmasters when a commision
over 65.000€ can be deduct so easy.
Unfortunately i am forced to spent more time for other niche areas but not for sports betting.

Kinda related to the topic but somewhat offtopic:

Has anyone experienced errors in their revenue numbers only? If I had seen several weird numbers over all the stats, I would be certain that it was an error, but a few days ago I woke up to a huge negative revenue number which is over 30 times larger than any max revenue day I have ever had (and even larger than the average). I guess it is possible that they hit a 10000-to-1 shot or something, but I am just hoping for an reporting error from Bet365, although I don't think I have seen one yet for the last 3 years I have promoted them. Where looking at another record month for my account when "disaster" struck, so hoping for an error :P

    Hi Karl,

I have emailed you and you have forward me to affiliates-bul@ymglory.com, but communication with them is very bad. I am waiting for a simple answer for more than week?! I don't think that this is normal! Is it possible to get in contact with someone who really cares about bet365 and his affiliates?

Hi George, we had a similar situation and it caused us some immediate panic. After speaking to our affiliate manager at bet365, he re-assured me the likelihood was the player was possibly in breach of fraudulent activity, or had de-activated his account. A week later, I received confirmation that the player had actually been asked to provide documents to verify the company account card he was using when making deposits and he did this to satisfy the checks bet365 made. So all worked out well and this player was re-instated into our stats and has been fairly active since.
    Regards.
    Adam
