GIBRALTAR, October 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Betfred announced today it is taking the lead in the online gaming sector by becoming the first company to use International Game Technology's (IGT) new office and data centre in Gibraltar.
This new deal heralds enhanced collaboration between Betfred.com, the world's largest independent bookmaker, and IGT, a market leading gaming provider.
Utilising IGT's new Gibraltar licence gives Betfred.com full, optimised access to the IGT rgs™ and allows them to release a host of world renowned gaming titles with immediate effect.
These include games with huge brand recognition such as Elvis, Star Trek, Da Vinci Diamonds and Monopoly.
The partnership also enables Betfred to facilitate a transition of some of the world's highest grossing land-based casino games into the online arena.
"Games are a key focus area for the company and we are committed to continually improving the player experience on the site," said Chris Sheffield, Betfred.com Managing Director.
"As we are licensed in Gibraltar, it was an easy decision to make the move over to the IGT rgs platform and boost our selection of market-leading games."
It also signals a strong move forward for IGT who have become the first purely business-to-business (B2B) company to be granted a Gibraltar Gaming Licence.
"We are delighted that Betfred.com has become the first of our partners to be serviced from our new office and data centre in Gibraltar," said Alex Kelly, IGT vice president of Interactive.
"IGT has always seen the value and appeal of Gibraltar as a world-leading gaming jurisdiction and our new Gibraltar office is ideally located for the sustained growth of our Interactive business."
This successful launch is the second in as many weeks for Betfred.com following the recent evolution to a sleek new website. The improved IGT partnership underlines a sustained investment in the online sector and a continued commitment to increase market share.
