    Default Betfred Stats

    Hi Guys

Has anybody noticed any issues with the stats at Betfred this month? My commission for last month has mysteriously vanished, despite the earnings report showing a good amount from sports and games. My commission has gone down to about $2. I have asked the manager, who said IA would look into it.

    Anybody else noticed this?

    Hi Lowrisk,

Perhaps I can help clarify the nature of the issue.

The Betfred affiliates stats system has to compile data from a large number of separate suppliers, reconcile that data with their internal financial data, and aggregate that data into a single sales file which is loaded into the Income Access FTP. The data is then loaded into Betfred affiliates for display. This process happens automatically, but if a supplier changes something on their end, it's possible that data that gets uploaded can be incorrect. For this reason, there is a manual review process that occurs regularly where data is spot checked to assure that it is correct. An error was caught regarding November games data which required that the correct data be uploaded and the problem be fixed. We should have the final patch by end of day today, which means Betfred can likely move forward paying affiliates tomorrow.

It's unfortunate that this issue has caused a delay in payments but I think affiliates will appreciate that Betfred is making every effort to display 100% correct data.

If you ever have doubts about the program, I encourage you to reach out and speak to the team that manage this program. This is a group of people whose sole function is to grow the overall revenue for the affiliate program, so they have every incentive to keep affiliates happy.

Although I do not convert BetFred as well as I would hope, I must say I have never had any tests that I conducted on clicks, downloads or signups ever fail.

I have found retention to be ok compared to other Playtech's.

Over the years a few times I have actually had players show up in stats after very long times of being dormant.

I also noticed that my earnings from November were gone, but after getting in touch with Louis I heard why. Now it's all back and up & running. Might have been wise from Betfred to write a notice on the website imho, so all this confusion could have been avoided.

So in summary Louis, You are saying there has been issues with data, and stats prior to today may have been wrong?

Revenue data in the system for November is now correct. However, we are still working out a few kinks with regards to CPA commissions for November, so it may be one more day before payments begin to go out. This is top priority right now.

My revenue for November went from a few hundred positive to more than $500 negative. No one has been in touch from Betfred to tell me anything.

The stats for November have not changed since last weekend when I raised this issue with you and Natalie, so no changes were actually made to the data at all in the course of correcting it this week?

    Hi All,

I can confirm now that all issues with November 2012 data have been resolved and that the Betfred affiliate team will begin to process payments as soon as tomorrow. Player accounts and ewallets should expect to clear by the weekend, and bank transfers should begin to clear before Christmas. We recognize that affiliate payments are especially important for your livelihood this time of year and we are doing everything in our power to expedite all payments.

Regarding concerns expressed about the data, we will endeavor to be as transparent as possible. The data which was initially loaded into the system in November contained errors relating specifically to the bingo product, resulting in bingo deposits, revenues and commission reported in the system to be substantially higher than the real values (approx. 120% higher). No other products were affected by this error. If you have seen a drop in your total commission earnings since the new data was uploaded, it is no doubt related to your bingo revenue. We apologize for this inconvenience, but we hope that you will understand that it would not be financially feasible for Betfred to pay out 120% more commission on their bingo product, as margins on this product are quite low and average commissions quite high.

Long term affiliates of Betfred will attest to the high level of integrity of the brand and their affiliate team, and the continued effort they put into making their affiliate program one of the best in the industry. Income Access and Betfred are more than happy to address publicly or privately any additional concerns you may have about this or other issues and we hope that you will not remain silent if you do have concerns at any point. We’d be happy to set up a call to speak to any affiliates so please do let us know.

    At this stage, two questions:

    1. None of my traffic is ever bingo targeted, and never has been, but you're saying my entire rev-earnings that went from positive to hundreds in the negative is bingo-related? I appreciate there's cross-product marketing involved but ALL of it? My traffic is casino. Just casino. No sport, no bingo.

    2. If I hadn't read about this issue here at gpwa, I wouldn't have a clue about this. Why haven't Betfred been in touch with me to tell me last month's earnings have vanished?

    TIA.

In addition to those two questions, as mentioned before and not addressed in your response, the stats have not been re-run this week. Nothing has changed, as Deanimus says, since 'the big drop.' This seems strange considering all the time spent 'correcting' them since.

    Hi Rob

    1) It's perfectly normal that an affiliate with mainly casino traffic might have a given month where bingo or sports revenue is the bulk of your revenue. Betfred is very active in cross-selling and you benefit from earning a good commission rate on all products. If you log in to Betfred Affiliates, you can see your revenue broken down by product. Having looked at your data, it's clear to see that your players are in no way exclusively casino, as you have substantial sport and bingo wagers each month. In this case, we can confirm that the data that was affected was for bingo deposits, revenue and commissions. Not casino, sports, or poker.

    2) Since not all affiliates are affected, and those who are affected are affected in different ways, it's very hard to create a mass communication plan to address this. We have to take a surgical approach and deal with individual inquiries as a result.

    Noel

The data was loaded into the system last week but we encountered some issues relating to CPA commissions. Since Betfred has thousands of affiliates and many bespoke commission structures, we had to do a substantial amount of manual review of the commissions to be sure that everyone's commission was correct before moving ahead with payments. Thus the data did not change between last week when we loaded the correct data and this week, however we needed the additional days to confirm all data before issuing payments.
