Thumbs down BetSofa Affiliate Program - major scammers

As most of you are probably aware, AGD conducts audit on affiliate programs, to uncover not what the program states in commission percentages, but what an affiliate is actually paid in commission earnings.

The latest affiliate program under the microscope is: BetSofa Affiliates.

To say their factual commission structure is the worst I've seen in 21 years as igaming affiliate, would be a huge understatement.

    https://www.affiliateguarddog.com/co...-report.17637/

Deposited €20 via Skrill and took a welcome bonus of 111% up to €1111
Played slots only, and eventually all funds/credits were lost.

For the deposit of €20 via Skrill the Net Gaming Revenue was € -7.20
Our earnings should be 45% of NGR which is € -3.24

AGD contacted the BetSofa AM, because there was definitely and error with these earning calculations. However, the reply received confirmed the NGR: € -7.20 and commission earned: € -3.24, were both correct.

    Hello, dear community.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are in constant dialogue with our partners and performed audit from AGD stressed attention to the terms, which we could improve.

Please check the new audit from AGD at the respective webpage.
Net revenue is calculated based on the formula: GGR – 30% admin fee (payment and game providers expenses; operational costs).

    Feel free to contact us,
    BetSofa Aff team.

So 30% admin fee is confirmed?

And confirm that the 30% admin fee (which should cover operational costs) does not and that an additional operational cost is on top of that. And what % is that?

Could you take Dave's example above of a €20 deposit with a 111% bonus and provide and example of what the Net Revenue and commission would be?

    Rick,

    https://www.affiliateguarddog.com/co...ort-new.17661/

Once we published the results for the first audit report, we received an email from BetSofa Affiliates representatives advising us they have updated their affiliate program settings and are not sharing the bonus costs with affiliates anymore. Net revenue is calculated based on the formula: GGR – 30% admin fee (payment and game providers expenses; operational costs). So we decided to perform a new audit report again testing their brand BetSofa Casino.
The new audit figures are as follows:

    • 25% = 17.50 %
    • 30% = 21.00 %
    • 35% = 24.50 %
    • 40% = 28.00 %
    • 45% = 31.50 %

Figures are still well below what BetSofa Affiliates are stating on their site.

Over two (2) decades as a casino affiliate, and I have never seen, or known of an affiliate program to pay over their advertised commission percentages. However, in those two plus decades I've seen oodles of affiliate programs choose to highly inflate their TRUE commission percentages, as is the case here with BetSofa Affiliates.

A couple of % lower is one thing, and pretty much acceptable.

EG - $100K lost by tagged players, an affiliate on 45%, has $/€/£ 13,500 (or crypto equivalent) of their rightful commission stolen by BetSofa, because that 45% is not what affiliates are paid to their pocket. Instead, they only receive 31.50% commission payment.

Imagine making a term deposit investment at a bank. The Bank advertises 1.5% return on your investment. However, when the bank pays out your dividend, instead of receiving 1.5%, the bank pays you 1%. You approach the bank and state, you advertised 1.5% but you only pay 1%. The bank replies, yeah sorry about that, we have "Admin Fees", and that 0.5% covers those fees.

People would go berserk and rightly so...

Most affiliate programs think it's OK to BS their partners with FAKE commission percentages, and charge insane fees.

What these programs fail to remember is, without affiliates sending them players, their casinos etc., etc., would be out of business. Yet they continue to bite the hands that feed them. The affiliate hands which send them their Bread and Butter.

My advice, if a program will not be honest about their true commission percentages, can you really trust them not to shave/scam you...

    Hello, Universal4,

NGR for 20 EUR deposit will be = 20 EUR - 30% Admin fee = 14 EUR NGR. In case of 40% RS affiliate commission will be 5.6 EUR.
No additional operational cost on top of Admin fee is charged.

    Hello, dear AussieDave.

We respect your opinion and experience.
During two decades gambling landscape has changed a lot and obviously operators currently have huge expenses with game studios, payment providers, taxes, operational costs. And it's a reality and a greed, as one can think.

We've checked many reputable affiliate programs and in our opinion 30% Admin is a reasonable and competitive fee.

    Cheers.
