    Default Betsson DK

    Dear Affiliate partner,
We are sending this email to highlight the importance of and to ensure compliance with the Danish Marketing Practices Act, in particular article 6 concerning misleading and hidden advertisement. To comply with the above paragraph of the Marketing Practises Act, affiliate partners have to ensure that the readers of their sites are aware that the sites function as distribution of marketing and content from online casinos and online sport betting sites. According to the guidelines from the Danish Consumer Ombudsman, the affiliates are required to place an informative text above any review of any Betsson product or campaign on the affiliates site, clearly stating that the content is an advertisement for Betsson. The information has to be clear and visible to the reader. It would also suffice to simple write "annonce" or "reklame" (ad in Danish) above the promotional content. Further to this, the affiliates are required to clearly inform that any affiliate link to Betsson is a paid link. It would suffice to simple write "reklamelink" (ad link in Danish) above or under the affiliate link. This does also apply to links from Social Media. Betsson Group kindly request that you confirm your explicit consent to comply with Danish regulation and guidelines as set out in the above by clicking 'Confirm Here' on the button below by not later than 31/12/2017. Please don't hesitate to contact us, should you have any questions regarding the above.

    Kind Regards,
    Betsson Group Affiliates

Why is it useless? We need to conform to the rules set out by the UKGC and any other Bodies created to protect players these are the guys who set the rules for gaming in that Territory ?

Would you be responsible for the fines if they were levied because you didn't abide by these requests ?

What the UKGC has done is light a fire and it will soon filter to all governing bodies they will all get stricter and require marketing partners to comply with requests like this.

Its there to protect us and players and the reality is if big guys like Betsson are requesting this it wont be long before smaller companies and competitors do the same .. Its a case of comply make the simple changes required ( its a bit of text after all) or face the prospect of losing more business and traffic ?

My 2 cents just do what is required its accepted practice and if you do it once you wont need to do it over and over ?

Regulation is good for this industry its their for a reason.

It is useless, because this smallprint **** never ever helped to everyone and if you pretend it does, then we both sadly live in another universes. Be it gambling smallprint or smallprint at the rogue utility provider of my 88 years grandma that I am solving now, it is all the time the same.

Yes, it is "its a bit of text after all" in other words exactly the useless cr4p.

And about regulation you have weird sense of humor. It just killed the business. I just got 70% of my affiliate income gone because of UK bullsh1t.

There is the problem If you see it as useless cr4p .. Other affiliates realized its important and have embraced the change and will survive just like they did with UIGEA , UKGC and Denmark its about adapting and growing to survive ... It will happen to Bitcoin at some point too how will you handle that ? Governments next big Target outside of gaming and a few other Vices ? Will you conform then? The reality is the sportsbooks and casinos that have gone full steam ahead with the UKGC and its new regulations dont rely on affiliate traffic to make them their billions they wont miss you or any other effected affiliate what they would miss more is the Millions in fines they could get should they not adhere .. i am not fighting you this is just an Opinion my Opinion which i know means nothing in your eyes

What I care are facts and money=ROI.
Facts are that this useless cr4p or rather the absence of it is just a scapegoat for society and people who swallow that narrative. It solves nothing for gamblers, they will be still gambling and destroying their lives. It kills the affiliate business.
I absolutely do not care, if it looks like that, it is completely false. I am set for many lives even with 100 grandchildren. I feel like an observer here. Thank god I have even work for people who are so far working in affiliate business.

Of course I will comply with all of the useless cr4p. After all it is just useless cr4p. It annoys me, devs have a little useless work and gamblers will gamble. UKGC and other completely useless institutions paid from money of gamblers or taxes will employ few more retards who would not have otherwise be qualified even for Mc Donalds.

I am not complaining. I am in cryptos now. If it turns into cr4p too, there will be always something progressive. That is life after all. Everything fades away. But smallprint is useless cr4p. If few people switched from gambling recently, they go to cryptos. They do not gamble through cryptos, but with cryptos.

I will tell you a half-joke. Do you know what is the most profitable casino today? It is either Coinbase or the Asian cryptoexchanges.

Why people switch? Because it is deregulated, it is fun, it is new. "Traders" are just a gamblers; like in sports 99% are far from pros. Once this altcoin run is over they will be very much ****** up gamblers. And were they protected? Ha ha. Gamblers do not want to be protected, they want to gamble. If someone comes there with useless cr4p that is annoying enough, they will just switch elsewhere. We are coming into era of designer gambling. The oldschool regulated gambling industry has just peaked and will die off.

In my understanding this affects only sites in Danish promoting betsafe.dk, nordicbet.dk and casino.dk (the DK licensed brands of Betsson), not something to concern 99% of the users here.

That is for sure. I even rather take them down than edit the cr4p for few players from which betsson will steal 98% of commission as it is normal by them.

It just indicates the bullsh1t that is coming.

Also the email has to be signed, so I think they want confirmation even from people without DK traffic. Deadline is last December.

    Hi Sherlock,

I am working with our Danish affiliates at Betsson Group and I am happy to answer any questions in relation to the Danish market.

This email concerns only Betsafe.dk, Casino.dk and NordicBet.dk. If you don't promote any of our Danish brands, you don't have to do anything in regards to the email.

I am sorry if the wording of the email has caused confusion for any of our affiliates. This is not the intention.

Personally I think it is unnecessary to add "reklame" etc, but we can't ignore the Danish authorities. There is an increase focus on this topic in Denmark at the moment and we will be made legally responsible if any of our partners don't follow the guidelines. It's always hard to be the first to break this to the affiliates, but I am sure that the rest of the operators will follow the next few months.

We do acknowledge that it is Christmas and have asked our partners to reply that they acknowledge this new situation before the 31st of December. I will do my best to help and guide any affiliate that needs help to implement the new rules.

I hope you will reconsider if you should promote our brands, and I will more than happy to help you if you should need it.

Until recently, I used to be an affiliate myself and I do understand how frustrating this can be.

I would think its other brands that take DK traffic that will follow suit

"Deadline is last December" its still 2017 isn't it ? Confirm Here' on the button below by not later than 31/12/2017
that you add these words my advice would be do it and fall in line.

Why lose any business/traffic because of a few words just comply and add it to all your DK casino reviews etc and you cant go wrong if DK is a target market ..

Yes. Today i see the first results of UKGC work. Some former Bet365 affiliates, wrote that now they send traffic to 1Xbet. Former Bet365 traffic go to 1Xbet now. 1Xbet - this is the most shadow and scam company. And this is the resultat of regulation.

Lets see if they can keep the regulators happy because if they don't i am sure there will be something done about it .

Bet365 in reality never needed your business and that of many other affiliates although i am sure they appreciated it.

They are too big now and affiliates were just a means of getting extra PR for them .

They can live without your traffic and so many other affiliates . I read somewhere that they had smashed there earnings record .

So any New sportbook taking their traffic and looking after their affiliates will need to be careful too about how they act as i am sure it will get noticed lets monitor this and see.

Regulators were created to safe guard the public against bad practices and keep business in check , Affiliates fall unfortunately in that grey area between the 2.

Affiliates will be seen as collateral damage in any cases like this as its you or their business and they will always try keep their business alive.

Of course. I do the same. Because until this is being played to the bitter end I am feeding some people for example. I can either tell them to go to factory for minimum wage, or I can pay them from savings or I can pay them from the best that is offered on market. And in case of more and more markets it is 1xbet.

Bet365 are not idiots. Until now the affiliates made them more then they took from them or at least they were thinking that and they have based it on data they only have.

They were very good at penetrating grey markets and grey marketing. They absolutely know and knew what is going on and were and are counting risk vs. rewards. I almost cry seeing them go, not because of the money, but because they were not idiots. And now there will be just more idiots (or cheaters) in this area and it is really painful to work with them.

365 set aside some or most affiliates that they evaluate as risky. That is it. They estimated their new sweet spot under the cr4ppy circumstances.

Until now (without the strict regulation) they indeed were making money with us and also protected their brand because they were marked as the best bookie at 9 from 10 websites and it was true.

Now it does not pay off, so they let us go and it seems it will be done in the most classy way possible, regardless what I read here on forum from stressed affiliates.

Regulators were created to safe guard the public against bad practices and keep business in check
There are stories for common citizens and there is reality. Those things are usually way off.
It makes sense to give stories about good society, states, governments and so on to people, because then people are calm, they work, they pay taxes (and then when they are worn off they gamble..and pay more taxes). Nothing wrong with those fairy-tales. States who do not lie to citizens do not exist, because they would be so weak, that they would fell apart at radioactive pace. But then there is a business and business it means evaluating the reality, not the fairy-tales. This forum is about business, so we can stay away of the lies.

So: No regulators, as always, were created just to pretend that they safe guard public. They never did it properly and those cr4ps they impose are just annoying and impotent. People who are stupid enough to seek easy profit from tipsters for example will be stupid somewhere else. Because they are stupid, weak and they did not want or even can not (if you are leftist) to act differently. The only help to those people would be proper education, but there are not enough sources anywhere to re-educate whole population. And on the top, the educated population would most likely stopped to gamble and maybe even with spending, so the taxes would go down and the state would be again too weak.

Regulators also - apart of pretending that they do something for public good - exist here to restrict competition. I can not speak for UK, but for example in Czech republic even the newly elected boss of "Czech UKGC" said to the newspapers something like that he is afraid to be at the office with the people, because they are all bribed by local casinos and bookies. This Czech UKGC is also preparing the regulatory laws and those laws are done in the way to restrict the competition. They way is to create high barriers for entry.

Any regulation is such: there are high fixed costs associated with it, so small players have proportionally higher costs and can expand less or at higher costs than the big guys. This is I believe one of the reason for the mergers. But the result is oligopolies and monopolies. And that is the worst outcome for customer. So the regulators make it worse for both businesses and customers.

I would like to add that I am far from being libertarian freak. There are regulations and regulators that in some way at least make sense, or where the pros are significant. But regulating something, that is by nature self-destructive, does not provide any significant public utility.

Let's have a look at Binance (it is affil link, not sure about rules, mods delete it if inappropriate; it is btw best altcoin exchange now for selling, there are pretty violent spikes).

The homepage already looks like landing page from casino. And it does not just look like that. It is. The best traders of some shitcoins win luxury cars etc.

If it looks like a duck... it is gambling.
