They were fined last year for responsible gambling failings and for advertising issues in 2017. I guess the UKGC jumped straight to suspension this time on that basis.

So they were fined last year but only now after almost a year they got the suspension? was this because they didn't pay the fine or didn't fix the issues?

You'd think they'd learn something from getting fined in the past. How absurd.

They had tougher licensing conditions imposed and had to pay a £2 million penalty. This is separate, although I guess the issue is they haven't adhered to those tougher licensing conditions, which is why this has jumped straight to a suspension this time. Originally Posted by ocreditor

Exactly what I thought. Considering the TV advertising they have done over the years, they must have a massive customer base, they must have been expecting quite a big fine to have just left like this. Originally Posted by Triple7

It seems to be a trend with Playtech brands - get what you can while you can -refuse to pay the fine - lose your license and then probably set up another brand using a different company. That means there is a very limited lifetime for traffic sent to Playtech brands potentially

Yeah this is a shame, we did well with them for bingo. Ultimately, though, you can't keep making the same mistakes and hope to get away with it. I guess they were facing an almighty fine to justify throwing away that customer base.

Wow, that must be a pretty big blow to BGO. UKGC is not very clear for the reasons, but apparently it was related to BGO's previous (and continuing) non-conformation to the money laundering checks.
A wake-up call to other UK operators.
