Bing exec says Google creates bad habits among users

Thing have been getting pretty testy between Microsoft and Google recently. Microsoft has accused Google of false advertising. (http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2011/04/...azines_fortune) Google has accused Bing of ripping off Google's search results. But my favorite incident (so far) comes from Stefean Weitz, Microsoft's director of search. He says Google teaches people bad search habits and has lowered expectations of search results. "A lot of us have grown up with Google over the last decade and that’s problematic when you want to advance the state of the art,” he said during an interview with the Huffington Post. “People today speak in pidgin English when they speak to a search engine… What people are not doing is challenging all engines to do more.”

Thats a bit rich, considering MSN messenger was arguably the biggest contributor to creating online forms of pidgin English at one point IMO
