    Default Black Hat, 301 tricks

In one of my niches I've noticed someone up to some black hat tricks.

They create a one page website based on a strong betting keyword that they want to rank for. They fire a load of keyword based links at the site exact or similar to the keywords they want to rank for.

They then 301 redirect the site to another one page website which is based around the same keyword. But this site has NO other links to it, just the 301 redirect from the website that has the links.

The new site comes up very strong in the Google rankings.

Now pardon me for being a bit naive, but I thought Google was on top of this sort of nonsense, it's a very basic tiered ranking scheme right?? Are we still in such a basic situation that this is all that is required to come near the top of Google ahead of full websites of decent content?

I mean seriously.... a one page website and a 301 redirect? Jeez I give up.

Kind of goes against everything Google tells us about how to be a good website. One page, load of crap links, 301 redirect, Bob's your uncle.

How often is a one page website the real authority answer to someone's needs? Yet Google has tons of them at the top in various niches. Odd.

You'd think Google would have a simple thing built into the algo to say a 1 page website has to have a shedload of authority and a ton of uniqueness before it can score ahead of higher aged, higher authority domains with loads of pages on them.

Or is it part of a plan to get proper webmasters to pay for Google Adwords in 'affiliate heavy' niches?

Ihey always pop up during big tournaments.. right now we have UEFA, before it was,,,,, NFL Worldcup etc, They are knocking off billion dollar authority sites from top psoitons. A true spammer has another thin site ready to go as quick as they get taken down, just as bad are those 10 second keyword rich you tube videos which have a phone number or link in the annotations.. What I had seen was a search result say "Yoursportsbookhere.com Review" it shows a snippet but when I click it's a redirect with aff tracking to a landing page..

Exactly, they get a good few months out of one, then just churn and burn.

Is it actually blackhat ? May they just want to hide their strong backlinks from competition ( anyway - there are tools which will show..), may they got penalized on their first domain and try to get it solved by 301 to new site, or ??
