    Default The Blacklist Series

    Hello Everyone,

I'm just back from the weekend after watching the 13 episodes of season 1 of this fantastic series.
And wanted to give you this warm recommendation to watch it.
I was literally mesmerized to the screen for few hours of pure entertainment

    Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGBIimq1I3A

Watched episode 1 tonight - was good and enjoyed it.

Although I'm a wee bit weary about the potential for it to drag - so good to see it's 13 episode is series 1 - not 26..

Also amazed to see how old and (ahem) heavy James Spader has got.
Almost unrecognisable as the former lead character of the original Stargate movie.

    ...
I agree with you on that one, most series have this problem, I was thinking the same after episode 3 but then I was surprised to see
how they renew in each episode the element of surprise (if you can call it that way...) by keeping me intrigued to the complex relationship between Red & Keen.

I have a short attention span when it comes to shows becoming stale. This one has not disappointed me yet.

Quality TV usually goes with good taste in food... if you are an epicure as I suspect, your recommendation for a good dish will be much appreciated !

I watched the first 5 or 6 episodes and it was pretty good but I stopped watching it. Will try and get back into it though

Also for fans of Breaking Bad, it features Skinny Pete in a very different role:

    Right Skinny Pete

If you liked breaking bad you'll probably like The Blacklist

I think for now the Breaking Bad is better, but ask me again in 2 more seasons

Unfortunately being Scottish my taste in food revolves around anything that comes with chips!

But I can recommend another good show to watch - The Following. If you like the blacklist, you'll more than likely enjoy The following as well.

Its rare a series has me hooked from the off, Breaking bad didnt do it, although it turned out to be amazing it took me a whole season to get interested.

I was hooked on the Blacklist from episode 1, Reddington is the boss, James Spader plays the part to perfection. Best example of a TV psychopath since Heath Ledger in Batman, Intelligent with a severe lack of anxiety, and empathy.

James Spader is doing one of the best parts of his life !

I wouldn't define the character as a psychopath as the joker done by Heath Ledger (which was amazing), more like a genius!

I dont mean Psychopath as in going round killing, just his character traits.

His manipulation, deception, lack of empathy. There are many symptoms of a psychopath there. Maybe he is maybe he isn't, I suppose we'll find out later on in the series. Its still pretty early, but not all psychopaths are evil, many are successful business men/women.

In this case I totally agree with you, I meant not all are evil. Psychopath or Genius is a subject for the viewers to decide and this what makes it so fascinating .
This exact type of character designing which is resting on a thin line of uncertainty or "open to interpretation" in other words as you described , is exactly the type of characters that makes a series a good one... and few more things I guess )
