    Smile Which Bookmakers to promote

    Hi all,

I'm ready to launch after plenty of research, however I'm debating on which bookmakers to promote as I've recently seen here skybet are now hostile towards smaller affiliates, and others seem to be moving the goalposts when it suits them.

The ones I'm sure on are:

    Betfair
    Betfred
    Bet365
    Betway
    Boylesports
    Corals
    Ladbrokes
    Paddy Power

Bet Victor - Had one account banned with due to their twitter terms broken, explained I'm a newbie and they agreed to let me open another account, but I will lose all my previous sign ups ?

Skybet - Not what I've recently read on here

    888 Not sure ?

Will Hills - All I can see is negative reports !

If any of you guys could please point me in the right direction regarding the above affiliates this would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks

it's a tricky world out there now to be honest

betfred are very good, same as coral. bet365 are brilliant but when starting out can be difficult as they have negative carry over and also you need some (5 i think) players before they pay.

i think, boyles, ladbrokes, betway, hills and betvictor all have negative carry over as standard although i have negotiated away from that with those

paddy power are also good with no negative BUT if you sign a player up as sports you dont get credited for other play like casino so if they sign up as sports and win £100 but then lose £10,000 in casino you get nothing

stan james closed mine and loads more affiliates accounts so I'd swerve them.

also 888 aint too bad, dont really get any hassle from them

totesport might be worth a pop, owned by betfred, especially if you are targeting horse racing

Thanks for getting back to me,

Very Interesting point you've said about paddy power "sports/casino" I wouldn't have known that one, also as you say it's best for to check negative rollovers out.

    Many Thanks !

personally i wouldnt touch betway on what has been reported in recent years. they may have cleaned up their act (?) but i wouldn't bother with them. And definitely avoid Winner.

Betfair - would probably get you started. Despite the 3 year exchange term (where you lose players on the exchange ONLY) and that their payments come around the 20th -27th of the month, any negative that you might have will be cleared and also sports/casino/games are on separate channels, so +1000 on sports and -10,000 in casino will still get you paid 1k.

Bet365 - would probably become your main if you are into sports betting. Once your 5 depositors are there you are ready to get paid and it's in the beginning of the month, before most other books. The only downside negative carry over, but excellent support and people to work with.

Paddy - thieves keeping 1 hand in your pocket. A term NO 2 people can tell you the same thing in that company. Stories come from "you need to be a big site" to "it's something we do for 12 months and then lift it". Not worth your time. As a starter you need as much money as possible.

WH - a nightmare, BUT usually are willing to do pre-paid deals. If you can get your hands on one, their money are just as good as anyones. Forget about your players, earnings etc. Slow payments, slow communication, messy stats, just good upfront payments if you can get a deal that's all.

Betfred, Ladbrokes, Betway - never found to convert well or even when they did, low player value. Up to you to test how that works for you. Ladbrokes is on a tear commission so i'd stay away from them.

Coral - Anthony can get you started there. Haven't seen anything from them and Im not promoting them much, but they used to be a book that ignored the online industry for quite some time. Will take years to get on track imho.

Betvictor - not worth your time, closing accounts for the most ridiculous reasons. Years ago, me and a colleague of mine told them about a 2nd account that we had JUST opened. "Oh cool, get banned on both, bye".

Skybet - used to be pure as a thistle, but you read what happened. Shook the whole trust thing in everyone. The saying changed to something like Keep your enemies close and your friends CLOSER cause of that act.

Unibet - isnt worth your time imho, but up to you.

Intertops - might work well for you as they accept US traffic as well. As far as I know they do not have any shady terms and their Ams are pretty cool.

PinnacleSports - good product, bad management. They pay on turnover so that could be a good thing. BANKING TAXES is what kills the whole thing. I've never heavily promoted them, but when I was into Esports, I did and there's some activity there recently. The banking taxes on the amount of payments are just ridiculously stupid. I don't care it's mentioned in the Terms, it's just stupid.

I have no views over Bodog, they used to be OK.

Titanbet - same quality as WH. Wouldn't deal with them in the long run, but have the money to pay for deals, something that can get you started.

Betdaq - similar to Betfair but far less demanding products, which makes them hard to convert, especially for a beginner.

Bottom line is: you are looking for any book that has: NO performance quotas, PERHAPS no negative carry over, pays in the beginning of the month, has no special requirements to get paid, minimum payment is something small like 10-20$, books willing to pay upfront for a placement.

Also you'd see some of the books I've trashtalked to be listed on top tier affiliate sites. They have THEIR OWN terms that will not apply to you.

This should get you started and through your personal experience you'd be able to see who's worth your time.

    Re above post about coral

    1 - anthony has left

2 - they are well on track, one of the best books with some of the most aggressive sign up offers going, convert well (for me) and retain players well

I really appreciate you breaking this down for me it gives me more of an insight into things, perhaps this is one of the reasons I see some sites only promoting 3-5 bookmakers ?

    Many Thanks !!

Agree with a lot of the sentiments above. One other consideration would be the nature of your site - if it's focussing on one sport/niche then picking the bookies that excel in that area is likely to both improve conversion and ongoing retention/revenues. I find it far easier to convert those bookies that offer better odds/terms/promotions for golf for instance, but that means my list of key bookies is likely to be fairly different to a football/racing-focussed site.

Also check out BetOnline. It isn't as specialized as bet365, betfred etc etc, but it has an decent platform and the deposit bonus attracts clickthroughs.

bwin - horrible terms, negative carryover and you dont even get life time of the player or something equally as ****

dafabet - didnt really do anything with them and they dont have a uk free bet now at the minute so I can't do anything with them, felt they entered the uk knowing nothing about the uk players market

marathonbet - only just started with them so dont know

genting- good, do well with them, pay early as well, sending decent numbers (because many dont have accounts there yet) and seeing good returns

I see that 138.com has been shortlisted for the best affiliate manager: has anyone promoted these?
also, re. Betsson - do they have a UK license for sports? And if so, worth giving a go?
