Buzz Bingo Affiliates - Be Careful

After 25 years in the industry - on both sides of the fence, I have yet to come across a scenario like this. I recently spotted an issue with Buzz Bingo Affiliates, where a 3rd party tool we use identified an FTD, and Buzz Bingo Affiliates did not.

It's a really long story with their hostile affiliate manager being OOO and Sick, waiting weeks on end for a response, and despite being led to the water, this affiliate manager is still unable to comprehend or selects to ignore data reality.

They set us up on a 20% revshare deal from May 24 after they us stopped a hybrid deal. The new deal (20% revshare), was, according to them, set up incorrectly, and this was the reason we were earning nothing, and the data was not showing.

When I checked the back-end reporting on IA, it told a totally different story. We had both FTDs and Revenue share, and they were displaying nothing.

I had to repeatedly correct the Affiliate Manager, who consistently sent incorrect reporting. After she finally sent me some earnings figures, she arranged to have a meeting with me, which I assumed would be for her to thank me for educating her.

How wrong can a person be?

She claimed that my emails were confrontational and that, as we had not met the T&Cs of the program, they were closing our account.

Well, if you rely on their 0% and zero reporting standard, that would be the case, but if you actually look at their backend reporting in IA, you see 24 FTDs on their 20% program since May 24. Granted its not a ton, but it is a 20% revshare. She quoted 8 FTDs in the same time period.

This had made me lose my rag. Be careful of this bunch - they are shaving, and when caught, they quote T&Cs and terminate your account.

Indeed if it wasn't for StatsDrone - i would have missed this scenario completely due to time constraints. They were happy to keep taking my traffic on a 0% basis - but as soon as i pointed out the error, the fabrication machine came into play. A huge pity as i think its a quality product - the same cant be said for their Affiliate Team.

It’s not surprising they chose to close the account. From what you describe, it seems the “deal” was that you promote them for free until you give up. Multiply that behavior across at least dozens of affiliates, and you will have pretty decent numbers at least for as long as it goes unnoticed. I’m sorry this happened to you; you were far more patient than most would have been. Accusing you of being confrontational is a way to deflect and justify bad behavior.

At least you realized what was happening, and now you can focus on more serious programs. I’ve been in similar situations myself, and I was able to cut my losses thanks to a third-party tool as well. I initially started using it just to save time and simplify reporting, but it has been surprising how much money it has saved me.
