    Post bwin may takeover Sportingbet

bwin has told buzzy (and some of bwin's closest friends) that they're in really preliminary talks to acquire Sportingbet. Things haven't reached the offer stage.

I think Buzzy is taken as a little more coy on this matter than is really the case -- when saying "bwin has told buzzy" about this we meant we're on their business mailing list and received a press release. I think the reason it is considered buzz and posted under this name rather than a reporter's name is that the story is so preliminary at this point.

    Here is the statement:

    bwin on press speculation

The Board of bwin Interactive Entertainment AG has noted the recent press speculation and confirms that it is in very preliminary discussions with Sportingbet plc for the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Sportingbet plc which may or may not lead to an offer.

For all I care sportingbet could go bankrupt. I'm still upset with the way the handled affiliates a couple years ago when they terminated the program.
