Bwin survey
We agreed to take part in the Bwin affiliate external survey who have hired an external team of consultants. They called us with numerous questions - took 20 minutes!
The 1st was a three part question where they asked what the three most important reasons for joining an affiliate program were.
My answers were 1)Reputability. 2) Service to affiliate. 3) Service to customers.
We got on to the subject of Rev share, which was good to talk about to someone not involved in the industry. Bit like the Samaritans really
Subjects such as Why we would promote programs that offer 25% where there are others that would offer 40% was quite interesting because we would rather promote a reputable program for 25% than an un-reputable program for 60%.
Another touchy subject was free advertising, the majority of us advertise these casinos/bookmakers for free. We could send a program 2000 clicks a month for no sign ups. Hence nothing for our efforts. Worse could be they click through, do not have the card details with them, visit the site directly at a later time and bang - we lose out although we advertised the place.
If you promote Bwin it's well worth taking part in this and you should conatct your AM if they haven't already contacted you. There was so much more but we couldn't write it all here.
I guess the question I am coming to is, Should Aff Program pay webmasters just to be advertised on top of revenue share? We have been doing this for around 6 months now, and the income really can help promote casinos, such as big press releases, banners on top sites etc..
