    Default CAP Aftermath?

I know there are a lot of people here who really hate CAP and are really gunning to take them down. There are signs that it's working.

For whatever its faults, CAP has been an extremely valuable resource for me and for other affiliates for connecting us to operators, holding operators accountable (if you posted on CAP that you hadn't been paid or questioned their stats, etc. - they stood up and paid attention). Also, the conferences have been an invaluable resource as well - you knew all the big players were going to be there and it has been the central meeting place for affiliates (apart from being lots of fun). The value of CAP London was clearly indicated by the attendance of Michael and J.Todd during this unpleasant period of conflict. I could list quite a few more ways that CAP has been meaningful to me as an affiliate. They connected a lot of dots. I know it's been valuable to operators as well.

I just hope that for all the energy and enthusiasm that is being put into taking down CAP, somebody has a real plan and is ready to step in and vigorously fill that role. I understand that mistakes have been made, but if we don't wind up with something better than the old CAP, it feels more like a loss than a win.

It's a lot easier to blow something up than it is to build it, and we really do have to figure out how to unite. With all the messy threads about the "controversies" lately it can be difficult to see how we're moving forward. Are we?

I know enough about Michael from having met him at conferences, observed him on panels, and familiarized myself with his company's websites and print materials to know that he is very capable, bright, gutsy, and resourceful. Maybe he's the one that will step in and pull something together that is better than CAP - I don't know.

Enough with the petty talk of avatars and he said she said.

Here's to whatever's next kicking ass and being a true improvement!

Great post! I can't wait to see who takes this new role either.

CAP has made mistakes, but they have owned up to them all and have never made excuses about them. They are transparent and have nothing to hide and nothing to gain by hiding anything. This is a bright future you should be happy to be involved in this revolution of progress.

Put on a smile and then put on your shades things are looking bright!
