I saw this video yesterday - it's fantastic. I've just last week taken in a stray cat bringing me up to 4. The poor little blighter's been born one eye short, had no microchip and is un-neutered. I ask myself why the owners expected him not to wander and how they figured he was going to get over roads when he did. He's not been mistreated, but it's negligence as far as I'm concerned.

You should see how animals are treated here in Cyprus, you see little dogs in chains when is 40 degrees outside and in the motorway you find at least 3 dogs/cat crushed by passing vehicles. This year I have started to notice a change in some people’s attitudes towards pets, so let’s hope they learn to be humane.

Your little cat has one eye just like my Jack. I bet your cat gets the royal treatment most of the time, in my home Jack is the kind and chichi is the queen. Tomorrow Chichi is getting spayed and get her microchip put on as well; I am not looking forward to see her unwell, but is for her own good. I was told by the Vet that is better to wait a bit longer to get Jack neuter, apparently male dogs can that get neuter too early can have issues with their urinal canal, it can became very narrow to the point that the dog can’t pass urine properly.

Yes, like a Hollywood script. But Tara is not a trained cat. As you said, she loves Jeremy above everything else. Just wonderful!

It makes me extremely sad that the dog has to be put down. I loooove Labradors, they are normally very gently dogs.
Here is a picture of the late Reginald, he died last year. He was a Labrador/pointer cross. I miss him so much

I saw that video on the weekend, unbelievable!
I've never seen a cat act like that before and dive in to defend a human, totally changed my opinion of cats.
Before seeing that video I would have expected it to go something more like this:

I can imagine this must be a sad time for you. The loss of someone close demonstrate how valuable feelings are.

Here's a footage with Jeremy and his bodyguard Tara.
Note the enormous and well sharpened paws!
If I was a bad dog I'd also run away.

I don’t think only bad dogs should be afraid of cats now. I was walking Jack today and we got chased by a cat. I think cats all over have watched Tara’s YouTube video and they are now fighting back LOL

The story came to a sad end. After animal shelter employees claim that "Scrappy" was aggressive and tried to bite, he was euthanized now.

Erica (Jeremy's mother), thought before, "Scrappy" could "be rehabilitated by the family possibly".

Coincidentally I ended up paying out over a grand for a similar issue at the start of the month. Apparently one of my boys had a reaction to the dry food he was eating which caused his urine to crystallise blocking his urethra. If we'd waited until morning to take him in we would have had one less cat.

I was watching a documentary about street dogs. Many of these dogs have been neglected so they have become aggressive and dangerous to the point that some of them even kill people. At the end of the day I think it's society’s fault. Animals are not born dangerous, they became this way when they get mistreated by us.

I am sure Cesar Millan would have been able to rehabilitate Scrappy.

I can confirm what you say. After working decades for animal welfare I saw so many shocking things, that I dreamed about it.

Human beings are the trigger if animals are agressive!

Believe me: In Eastern Europa animals will be treated like the last dirt on Earth. They must live in an unbelievable suffering. In some countries animal life counts for nothing. This is a fact and a shame!

An example: One member of our zoo was rescued from a Romania animal shelter.

A pervert Romanian animal abuser cut off the upper part of her mouth, the complete maxilla, when she was 6 or 8 months old. In the animal shelter she was kicked the whole day. She had been freed under extreme conditions and came to us when she was 1 year old.

Today she's 13, a filthy bugger but so social, so happy, never aggressive, despite everything that had happened.

    She loves apples so much.

Here are some pictures of her:

If you live with a dog like that in love, after a few months you no longer see the handicap.

She's not the only rescued one...

    Hi Leopold,

You are doing such great job with the shelter. That little dog looks very healthy and content.

There are so many thing wrong in the world; the only thing we can do is to contribute as much as we can even if it seems too small to matter.

    Hi ThePogg,
It must have been so painful for your cat, I am glad you managed to save him on time. I would love to be one of your cats right now and relax by the sun all day LOL

BTW Chichi my little female dog is recovering extremely well after her operation

I've got to say that I actually find those pics difficult to look at. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just a horrible thing to be inflicted on any animal. And I'd agree you stop seeing the handicap after a while - the ginger cat above actually only has one eye. The other has fallen out at some point prior to us taking him in. It's only been around 4 weeks, but already I hardly notice it. It's just a shame the little ginger and white girl's already learned about his blind side and gets the jump on him when they're playing lol.

I'm really glad to hear that! It's always stressful when they have to go in for anything. Since the urinary problem I'm actually having a rare quiet period in terms of the vet (touch wood). It's really messed up that I can call a few weeks a 'quiet period' but I've been at the vets so often in the last year they've offered me a room upstairs to sleep lol. Between guinea pigs and cats we never seem to quite get out of the bit.
