at which time, I am offered Grand Parker Casino, OnBling Casino, ClassyCoin, and Loco Panda Casino.

Supposing I arrived at ClubGoldCasino.com by way of an affiliate website (assume I found my way to you from a casino affiliate portal that does not geo-target based on their visitor location). If I click on say Loco Panda and as a direct result of my clicking I register, deposit, and play - does the original affiliate site that sent me to Club Gold Casino receive credit/commissions for my play?

I have a simple question too, which again is a complete new issue, based on sober facts, but want to wait a week or so for the last correspondence before i start to ask.

We would like to emphasise that Club Gold Casino does not accept players based in the US. The page in question is only visible to viewers located in the US, based on their IP address. As we consider our affiliates sophisticated enough not to send players to sites at which they can’t play, we would like to believe that no US players are being sent to us by any affiliate. Virtually all of our US traffic is the result of our internal SEO efforts and we are simply trying to utilise and optimise this channel based on those efforts. Affiliates should make efforts to direct any US traffic to alternative sites which can take those players instead of sending it to Club Gold Casino.

It is actually very easy to write a script that looks at the ip address of a visitor and makes a decision where to send someone that clicks on a link based on their ip address. As one simple example, maxmind has a web service you can use that will return the country of a visitor if you pass them the ip address for a fee of $20 for 200,000 lookups (you can purchase this service from the web page http://www.maxmind.com/en/country). That service is probably enough to service most smaller webmasters for a long time. But you can also build your own service using the maxmind GeoIP Country database. That data has a one-time site license fee of $50, with the option of purchasing monthly updates for a fee of $12. Anyone that uses redirect scripts for their affiliate links should imbed some geo-intelligence into their redirect scripts or they are dropping money on the floor. It is simply bad practice, in my opinion, to send a player to a place they cannot play, and it is very easy to avoid doing this.

In the case of Casino City we use this database, but we actually look at the ip address earlier in the process, and then we tailor the lists of online gaming sites to exclusively show sites where the player can actually play.

I certainly understand that one is leaving money behind if they do not use geo-targeting on their own affiliate site.

However, based on personal preference, I prefer not to send traffic to a site who may send my traffic elsewhere without crediting me in the event I send them a visitor. I personally rank this right up there with programs who send out promotional emails advertising their other properties but fail to transfer credit to the referring affiliate. My personal belief is that if there's a chance of my sending a program traffic, I should receive credit for ANY activity that visitor generates. I'm in the process of winding down programs who do not pay across different "channels", as I personally view this as cheating me as well.

I'm not saying that this practice is "wrong". I'm saying that such tactics do not line up with what I personally want from a program and thus, someone such as myself is inclined not to do business with a program who employs such tactics. I'm not in the former online casino yet, but I am making a list of those programs that I plan to do business with.
