buying traffic ?

Hi. Am relatively new here, but been reading for ages and been learning a lot.

Has anyone here purchased traffic, from traffic brokering sites ?

This is my first post so I can't post urls, but I am talking about sites like buyawebsitetraffic dot com - If so, was it worth the spend ? Did you get a good conversion ratio ?

I have seen some sites that look really dodgy, and others that look quite legit, with widely varying prices for targeted casino traffic.

I'm sure a lot of us, me included, have tried buying traffic cheaply in the past. The results you'll get are nil. You'll get hits to your website but that's about it.

Stay away. If a deal is too good to be true then it's not worth the paper (or screen) it's printed on.

I agree with Doolally. You do not get any worthwhile traffic from the same.

You would be better off using your funds to buy advertising space on relevant websites run by members of dedicated forums like the GPWA.

As above I'd stay well clear. If one could find or had a reliable stream of converting gambling traffic this would be a goldmine. My experience and I'm sure also that of others is that it just doesn't exist.

As suggested, invest the money perhaps on advertising where you will get far fewer visits, but hopefully those that do visit will be there for a reason and not that a pop up opened on their screen or they were redirected from an unrelated site.

Buying traffic has its advantages... and I have found a really easy guy to work through who even let's me have a reseller account pretty much for me to split up traffic among a handful of campaigns I manage. I just have to be careful to avoid sites with popups or framebreakers.

A casino wants more traffic thinking I can just flip a switch and open the floodgates? Sure thing - the few bucks it costs saves a lot of aggravation... and really doesn't do much for their conversion rate.

Oh - and even though I'm just using cheap traffic (50% from russia) it has generated a few signups and depositing players.

I buy cheap traffic to help bump my sites in Google. I spend like 5 bucks every 2 - 5 days for new sites..pushes them up in the rankings for google and alexa. But the traffic i buy never converts. If you want some of the traffic there are some other ways to get amounts for free (China etc.)

@ casinojack - yes I would be interested. I am finishing off my first portal site - hope to be ready sometime this week for comments from you guys - and I am looking at all options regarding giving the site an initial traffic boost and SE exposure.

Turoc - Cheap traffic doesn't really have an easily measured ROI. I have gotten maybe 5 depositing signups (for minimal play if i remember correctly) over a couple million hits, to date. And the stuff I send to my site has such as high bounce rate (90%ish) I doubt it has led to anything.

But - I like to experiment and do feel that the appearance of a crowd can only be good for business - seo and alexa type stuff.

I spend a couple hundred dollars per year on this - but I have access to a pretty good deal - but not willing to share those details with just anyone.
