    Default ComeOn Closing UK Operations

    Received the following this morning from ComeOn

    After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that ComeOn! has taken the decision to close its operations towards the UK market for strategic business reasons.

    What will happen to UK account holders?
    · As of 23rd September 2019
    o We will stop accepting new players residing in UK
    · As of 27th September 2019
    o We will stop accepting deposits from existing players residing in UK and their accounts will be closed.
    o Funds remaining in player accounts may be withdrawn at any time up until 29th September 2019. However, after 29th September, UK players will have to contact our customer support team in order for us to transfer funds to their bank account.

    Please note that this decision affects all our casino and sports brands that currently hold a UKGC license – Comeon.com, mobilebet.com and getlucky.com

    Please accept this email as a formal notification to remove ALL marketing materials from your sites targeting UK players prior to the dates stated above. As per article 3.1 (b) and (C) of the ComeOn Connect Terms and Conditions, you are expected to abide by these instructions, failure of which would be considered to be a material breach of the Terms and Conditions

    We apologise for the inconvenience caused and if you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact the team

    As I've said for ages now, the UKGC's agenda isn't about supporting, and providing a decent industry for UK players. Instead, it seems hell-bent on milking operators to the point where, they either go out of business or depart the UK. Either way, the more they fine and or think up more and more penalties, the less and less operators will want a UK license.

    And without a UK license, operators from jurisdictions such as Malta, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Isle of Man wont be permitted to accept UK players.

    Mark my words... soon UK players will be hard pressed to find anyone other than UK (high street) bookies, and grey-market-operators to play at.

    I am not surprised but I am very disappointed. We have sent them so many players from the UK. What a joke!

    Also not surprised but still a shame, they were different to the rest and had some great retention.

    I think I will be very wary about adding any new UK casinos, unless they are part of an established network. It's a pain and a large financial loss if you have built up a nice player base, and they suddenly shut the door. I think we will see another few close to the UK during the next few months, we seem to being going backwards.

    Got the same email today. It is really sad - Brexit and many reliable casino and bookies will shut operations. Obviousy UKGC wants to shave them all. I think at least 5 more bookies/casino will leave the Uk market.

    I feel sorry for all the affiliate here and not only, who invested and put huge efforts to get an build big client bases

    If your caught up in this Come On exit, I'd be signing up as a player right now (not under your own tag). Why?

    Usually, once an iGaming Operator departs a region, and no longer accepts players from that region, they'll be out there trying to cut a deal with another operator who (in this case) still accept UK players. Wouldn't be the 1'st time affiliates got screwed over with this scam.

    The reason to have a player account should be obvious

    You are very right. We've seen this happening very recently by another operator who just invested huge money in a white label!

    Since all this UKGC BS started, I've done really well with the UK market - by promoting GOOD casinos that are NOT UKGC licensed and thus do not restrict my promotion efforts and deduct 90% of my earnings. UK is still okay, but not if they have a UKGC license.

    Ideally, whatever programs you work with, affiliates should have a player account.

    • Use a separate email for each account;
    • Use an IP you don't use to login to your aff account;
    • Use a browser like: Epic Privacy Browser (solely for this purpose - https://www.epicbrowser.com).

    The temptation for a program/iGaming entity to rob you blind with unethical cross making (tag removal etc., etc) is always present. With programs holding all the ACES, this is a good insurance policy. If a program is conducting unethical marketing etc., you'll be the 1'st to know

    the regulatory and Compliance burdens are far too high if you don't have the volumes. I can't see many operators looking into entering the UK market anytime soon.
