Comments on exchange

Hi everyone!

I have come up with idea how we can help each other to make OUR WEBSITES more attractive for SE as well as new visitors. It is always hard to get comments under your blogposts if you don't have a lot of traffic, and when there are 0 comments people tend not to leave their comments either.

I propose an idea that we exchange comments between each other. Let's say you pick 3 posts where you want person to leave his comments. Next person has to comment yours and leave his 3 posts to be commented by the next person... and so on..

Good things about that:

• Creates more content, which search engines love
• New visitors will tend to comment or stay longer on your post whilst browsing through comments
• It increases Alexa rankings
• Creates more relevant keywords that can be searched
• Helps with "freshness" of the site/content leading to greater site authority

BUT! Comments have to be longer than 150 characters, they should add value (question, opinion or thoughts, etc.). Considering we all know iGaming industry pretty well and are pretty active on this forum it shouldn't be that hard to organize.

Please share your thoughts on that.

I think it's a pretty good idea. Have you got a detailed system how to do this in case there are enough of us interested in this? I mean, how will you/we decide who is going to comment where?

There are a few problems with this.

The person leaving the comments may or may not provide quality type comments, and if they are quality comments, they may or may not get quality comments in return.

What happens in the above scenario where someone is getting great value comments on their sites and yet not providing the next guy good value?

Who gets to decide that?

Google very well could follow the pattern created by a "system" to generate comments.

Wouldn't it be just as easy and effective to just buy the comments?

Who decides who is allowed to participate?

I can see the seowannabes wanting to be involved for their "clients".

Start a thread in the link exchange section looking for participants and see how it goes, but I remain a bit skeptical.

Since this is MrBinaryAff's idea, with the support of all the involved in this attempt, he and the others can review the comments first that will be posted, and then used for posting. As to Google following the pattern, maybe someone has an idea of breaking that pattern.

Could it be in a simple comments exchange way? Like we do in links exchange for example?
I mean that I could write a comment in a post of someone's website and in return he or she could write a comment in a post of my website. And we can do the same process with as many websites we want.

What do you think about that? Is it possible to do a kind of exchange like that?
Would it be efficient for our websites in SEO?

As far as I know Google punishes such exchanges. It used to be effective in the past, but now I was told by other more experienced webmaster that we shouldn't do that kind "two-way" link exchanges.
Therefore, if this is going to happen, everybody participating needs to leave a comment with link of websites that will not link back to the websites where the linked comment was left.

Rules are simple:
1. Website has to have open comments section, so the person doesn't really need to register. Name, email is used only.
2. Each comment has to be more than 150 characters.
3. I am personally against leaving your website link when commenting, you just put same name as you use on the forum, or you tell under which name you are commenting.
4. You provide 3 articles/posts which you want next person to comment only after you have finished commenting previous poster (hope that makes sense).
5. We always need new participants so share this idea with your fellow bloggers!
6. Remember, the better are your comments on other websites, the better comments you will get in return.

Who is IN? Let's make a list and when we get 10 people, we can start?

P.S. universal4, could someone move that thread into "link exchange" if you think it is necessary, I would personally leave it here as we are not going to exchange links.

Whether you admit it or not you are suggesting a form of exchange and a thread dealing with a list of "exchangers" should be in the appropriate area.

What we can do is move the post dealing with the list of exchangers into the appropriate area, and place a link in the discussion thread to the exchange thread.

They are no-follow, so really no point and it will lead to all the websites who are commenting each other (google might see that ).

Yeah, that is why I thought there was going to be a system in which Google will see nothing, but that's too much work I guess Anyway, let's help each other either way.
