Commission.bz Adds Quotas

BetOnline.ag/SportsBetting.ag are jumping into the unfriendly waters of reducing commission if quotas are not met. Doesn't affect me at this time but I HATE when programs do this! At least it's a reasonable quota, but still - wasn't the deal agreed to at the time of sending players for the last several years!

Thanks for sharing. I hadn't seen this, not that it affects me personally.

Commission.bz's main competitor, given that they are offshore sites targetting the US, would be BettingPartners (Now BestPartners as of last month). They also, via Bovada brand, have the exact same clause... 3 RMPs per 6months or dropped down to 10% commissions. As such, I'm not terribly surprised to see this.

While it is a low threshold and unlikely to affect my site personally, I have written to BetOnline suggesting that they use impression and click data to determine whether an affiliate is active rather than RMP's which is too dependant on their ability to convert clicks.

I have also noted that while they CAN change contract terms for players acquired in future, attempting to apply a retro-active clause to players acquired is the past is not legally valid, and is pretty much considered as an act of a poor affiliate program.

In the past commission.biz have been a reliable affiliate partner, and BetOnline a good brand for players, So I am hopeful that we can have some robust discussion and get a more appropriate stance from this program.

3 players in six months doesn't seem a lot, and at least they aren't closing accounts. My fear as a returning affiliate is that I won't get up to speed in a reasonable time, and any work that I've done in promoting a sponsor will be lost.

I've also got a problem in that casinos are not the only sponsors that I promote. My reasons for promoting them are to accumulate Bitcoin rather than to provide me with living expenses. I guess that makes me am amateur affiliate.

Quotas are never a welcome factor, especially if they are applied retroactively. Big affiliates who are generating decent numbers will have no problem and choice but to meet these quotas, but smaller affiliates who are struggling to generate an income will probably be turned off and will most likely look for other programs to promote.

Here Here! I have always liked commission.bz and think BetOnline is a good place to send players. This shouldn't affect me personally either but it just gives me pause when programs start to try to change terms. I received the same letter and it doesn't say whether it applies to existing affiliates but I have a feeling it does. At worse, whether you bring 1 or 100 new players when this takes affect, your existing players up until 1/1/18 should not be affected but I do not think their software can do that i.e. keep old players separate at a different rate.

Maybe Pete or someone from commission.bz will see this and respond.
