BOOK CLOSED ON ROYAL BABY GIRL AFTER KATE DROPS HINT
*Quick-Witted Punters Hoping Slip Of The Tongue Proves Correct!
Bookmaker Coral has closed the book on Prince William and his wife Kate having a daughter this summer, after the Duchess of Cambridge appeared to let the information out yesterday. As a result of her slip of the tongue to well-wisher Sandra Cook in Grimsby, Coral has cut the odds on what the newborn will be called, with Victoria now 7-1 favourite (from 10-1), ahead of Diana and Elizabeth, both 8-1.
“Plenty of quick-witted punters took advantage of Kate’s slip of the tongue to get their bets on it being a girl before we saw the news, at which point we closed the book, as it was a rather strong hint!” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“It would also appear to rule out all the potential boys’ names, and leaves Victoria as the favourite, ahead of Diana and Elizabeth,” added Stevens.
