Coral makes Change to Sports Freebet Welcome Offer

I wanted to let Coral Affiliates know that we have made a minor change to the CoralSports Free Bet offer that we think will have a positive effect on revenues.

Often when programmes change their terms, the perception is that there is a cynical motive and that the changes will have a negative impact on affiliate revenues but we think that this change has the potential to actually deliver more revenue to our partners.

Previously, when new players registered they had 28 days in which to make their first bet to qualify for the100% match bet up to £/€50.


Research showed that if after 2 weeks a player had still not made their first ever bet they were highly unlikely to go on and do so; only something like 5% went on to place a first bet in those final 15 to 28 days after their registration.

As a result of this, the £/€50free bet qualification period has been reduced to 14 days.

Any players who have not made a first ever bet within 14 days of registration will now receive an email from Coral on the 15^th day of their account offering them a different offer that they may find more attractive. We will be varying the offer types that these players receive to see which has the best response overall.

Important: Your affiliate tracking links still retain cookies with a validity of 30 days – these additional offers sent out to unconverted players on the 15^th day of their account will not contain any cookies or tracking that will overwrite the original referral. In fact, we hope that this change will help our affiliates earn even more revenue as we work harder to convert your traffic into real money players.

Here is the text of the official terms for the new structure:
From Friday 13^th December the current Sportsbook £50 Welcome bonus will have one change to the Terms& Conditions.
The fundamental differences being:

a) Offer must be triggered within 14 days of account registration to qualify. First sports bets placed after this duration will not qualify for this free bet match offer.

£/€50 Welcome Bonus Terms& Conditions
1. Offer available to UK &Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 years or over opening an Online, Mobile or Telephone Coral account in either £/€ currency.
2. To qualify for this offer,your first real money Sportsbook bet must be placed on a selection at odds of 1/5 fractional / 1.2 decimal or greater.
3. Coral.co.uk will then match the stake on the qualifying bet up to £/€50 as a free bet token.
4. The free bet will be triggered on the placement of the qualifying bet and will not apply to subsequent bets.Void bets do not count towards this promotion.
5. Offer must be triggered within 14 days of account registration to qualify. First sports bets placed after this duration will not qualify for this free bet match offer.
6. Free bet token will expire after 14 days of issue.
7. The free bet must be wagered in full, can be redeemed on win or each-way bets and can be used on the following listed bet types: single, double, treble, 4-fold and upwards accumulator, forecast, combination
8. Free bet token is not valid on tote, other combination and multiple bets (i.e Lucky 15s).
9. Free bet tokens are non-refundable. Free bet stake is not included in any returns.
10. Free bet tokens are not returned if wagered on a void selection.
11. This free bet offer cannot be used in conjunction with, or contribute to any other coral.co.uk free bet offer or promotions.
